Meet Faro in a completely new way: during 60min you will go on a tour through 4 rooms where the senses are elevated. Without sight, let yourself absorb in the environment around you with the support of a blind Guide and a cane. Feel the intense aromas, explore interesting textures, listen to the details of everyday life unfolding. We encourage you to embrace inspiring daily reality of your Guide, ending the challenge with a relaxing drink at the bar in the dark, where you can share your impressions and ask questions, break taboos and expand horizons. The promise is simple: completed the experience, your vision of the World, and of yourself, will not be the same. You will be a more conscious person, more connected to your senses, and more prepared for the difference. Every room has a different background story where you will explore different senses and learn about the iconic spaces around Faro, while connecting to the real life challenges and victories of visually impaired individuals. What a superb idea to give a glimpse into life as a visually impaired person. We had a wonderful time with our guide Carlos, who was kind, funny and very open and invited us to ask questions about how his life was. It was fascinating to have our sight taken away from us for just an hour and have to work out how to instead use our other senses to navigate. Thanks so much for sharing Carlos!
Ricardo gave us an invaluable insight into his life as a visually impaired person. It really improved our understanding of the challenges he and the blind community face but also the joy and beauty he finds in the world. We have been more conscious about things such as pushing chairs back under tables since.

If you want a unique and educational experience then please visit Four Spaces. From the start we had a warm welcome on the foyer before we started the tour. Our guide Beatriz was really kind and had a warm and personable demeanour. My daughter kept saying she thought her eyes were closed and if she opened them she would be able to see but you really can’t see anything so you can truly appreciate how visually impaired people navigate different environments.
