Had a lovely time visiting churches and parts of old Goa including Fontainhas Heritage Walk. Our charming, helpful and knowledgeable guide had a wealth of knowledge about the churches, their history and customs and we had a great time while updating our knowledge about the history of Goa and the rule of the Portugese in Goa. Tavanya was helpful with our shopping too and we felt she was really involved in making our tour memorable. I would definitely insist on Tavanya as our Guide for my future trips.
Great experience with Karan for the Fontainhas Heritage Tour!
The Fontainhas Heritage Walk was well organised. The guide, Karan, shared very interesting insights about Goa's history and heritage. This walk is a must-do when in Goa.
A trip to Goa is not complete without this walk. Royston is a wonderful host and storyteller with a deep knowledge of Goa’s heritage and culture. Truly a delightful experience!
Amazing. The tour was detailed and interesting. We even had snacks, drinks and house tour.
Amazing experience with soul travelling, Karan and his team...very well explained and in a fun way too...got very comfortable with him and the team and the experience is much different than regular tours.
Fountainhas or the Latin quarter in Panjim, Goa is one of the prettiest areas. But more importantly it also contains a lot of history and context. And the best way to explore it is through a heritage walk. I did mine with Soul Travel and it was amazing. Our guide Adolfina was amazing; so knowledgable and astute and full of stories, anecdotes and histories of the area. She kept us engaged from start to finish. She even took us to an old Portuguese home to show us the most beautiful house from a bygone era still maintained impeccably well. And we rounded off our trip with some nice snacks at Cafe 31 January. This is a must do itenery when in Goa.
Very informative session, it was my 2nd session with Soul Travels and it was brilliant
The Fontainhas Heritage Trail was a wonderful experience. Our ambassador Adolfina was very knowledgeable and engaging, sharing great insights on Fontainhas’ history, Portuguese architecture, and cultural heritage. The storytelling and house visits made the walk both educational and memorable. We ended with tasty refreshments, and the snacks were delicious too. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to explore Goa’s heritage!
The Fontainhas Heritage Trail began at the historic Post Office in Panaji and covered several notable landmarks, including the Dr. Miguel Caetano Dias Statue, Aries House, and Bakery 31 Janeiro. Walking through the colourful streets of the Latin Quarter, participants experienced the unique Portuguese-inspired architecture, rich cultural heritage, and old-world charm that make Fontainhas one of Goa's most iconic heritage precincts. Overall, it was a great experience that provided valuable insights into Goa's history, culture, and architectural legacy.
