Itinerary
Meet your Local Food Expert by the obelisk and begin your culinary adventure through the city. Our food tour offers a delicious overview of local specialties, from carefully selected cured meats and cheeses to handmade pastas, fresh schiacciata, and finishing with authentic gelato—a true taste of the city’s culinary delights.
We begin by stepping into the world of the Florentine wines by pausing at a traditional wine bar in the heart of city to enjoy a glass of red wine, ranging from the renowned Chianti to elegant local white varieties. In a relaxed and authentic setting, you’ll discover the depth and character of the region’s winemaking tradition through a carefully selected glass of wine.
Next, taste traditional handmade pici or other classic Tuscan pasta, all prepared with care in a top-ranking trattoria near Palazzo Medici Ricciardi. As you savor each bite, take in the grandeur of this Renaissance palace, once home to one of Florence’s most influential families. The surrounding streets, filled with history and character, add to the experience, allowing you to enjoy authentic local flavors while immersing yourself in the elegance and vibrant atmosphere of the city’s historic heart.
You cannot leave Florence without trying the traditional Pappa al Pomodoro and Ribollita. Both dishes come from the farmers’ tradition and have been prepared the same way for generations. Enjoy them in one of the city’s most typical and lively trattorias near Piazza Santa Trinità, where the charm of the square—with its elegant Renaissance architecture and bustling atmosphere—makes every bite even more memorable.
And if you still have room, we’ll stop on Via dei Neri for a Florentine street food treat: the delicious schiacciata, a fluffy focaccia generously filled with the finest local ingredients. As you enjoy this tasty snack, take in the lively atmosphere of one of Florence’s most famous streets, filled with local shops, historic buildings, and the energy of the city’s vibrant food scene.
Finally, a sweet ending to our tour: depending on availability and the season, you’ll enjoy the best gelato in Florence or a traditional treat in a historic pastry shop, such as cantucci or other local specialties.

Our initial dinner tour was rescheduled to the next day’s lunch tour due to sickness. Our guide, Lorenzo was awesome: he was friendly, so knowledgeable about his city’s history and food culture, we were spoiled as the only two people on his tour. It truly was THE Ultimate tour: food, history and sights! So much fun!
Our guide Vincenzo was outstanding. We had 5 stops of wonderful wine & foods and got the history of Florence along the way. Vincenzo made it so enjoyable & fun. I highly recommend this tour & Vincenzo.
Our guide, Anna was wonderful: informative, organised, had great stories to tell relating to her city and her cultural experiences. It was hard not to be taken away by her enthusiasm and passion for her city and culture. Food was good but only criticisms were: group was big (about 16) so felt abit rushed; mostly street food but pasta was also included. Loved that we went to local establishments with lots of history and experience.
Lorenzo, our tour guide, was great — very knowledgeable. My complaint is with the experience itself. The food was mediocre and light on protein: the first stop was wine with bread and prosciutto; the second was pasta (little ham, and potato ravioli) served family-style at a shared table with other parties (I’d have preferred our own space rather than sitting next to strangers); the third was a vegetable soup, more like porridge, with bread; the fourth was a panini with just a few slices of meat; and the last stop was gelato. We also ended up walking in circles, passing the same spots multiple times. I wish the food options had been better — though we might be a bit biased, coming from San Francisco where the food scene is excellent. Save your money and skip this tour.
My daughter and I were looking for a unique experience that would expose us to local cuisine we might not necessarily try on our own combined with some history of Florence. We got both! Angela was a great guide who was full of knowledge, patience and answered our questions! Highly recommend!
Wonderful walk through the streets of Florence with great food stops. Angela was awesome.
Great food and great tour guide. Very knowledgeable!
This was a lot of fun! We loved eating all the food (it was definitely more than a full meal - by the end of the 2nd stop we were completely full!), and enjoyed meeting the other family in our group. Our guide was charming and full of knowledge and we also enjoyed seeing the various restaurants. This was a great introduction to both Florence and Florentine food and we ended up returning to the sandwich place the next day to grab lunch before we got on the train to go to Rome.
We went to a wine shop, 3 food spots and a gelateria. All were delicious! Gennaro was a great guide and gave lots of interesting information about the food and the city’s history.
Angela was a wonderful guide and we had a lovely evening. It was very educational and the food was delicious! I would recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience traditional Florence food.
