No communication from guide, guide didn’t answer phone or messages, no tickets available to collect as guide did not show up
Guide didn't show up. We had to call the office who got hold of the tour guild. He said he would take us later, but we had built our schedule around set time. Book directly from doumo, cheaper and less frustrating.
Up to 6 emails per day from you for a month... A disaster.... Once in Florence again emails in English, we are French and do not speak English... 1 hour before the visit of the Duomo, change of schedule with a call in English, which we did not understand anything... Rendezvous for this visit, completely imprecise, a route of the fighter to find... Audioguide, on mobile (it was not specified at the reservation) impossible to download... I will never book with you...
Dear Guest, We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your visit. However, we would like to clarify a few important points for better understanding. All our communications are conducted through the official Viator channels, as per policy. We cannot predict or determine the native language of each traveler, and since English is the most commonly used international language, it serves as the standard medium for travel-related communication worldwide. Regarding communication, our team attempted to reach you several times via email and phone, but unfortunately, the calls were rejected, and even on the day of the experience, our ground staff tried contacting you but were blocked. As for the audio guide, detailed instructions to download the POP Guide app were sent to your registered email well before the experience—not at the last moment or at the meeting location. The meeting point address was also clearly mentioned on your booking voucher, and our staff were present there assisting other guests at the same time. For future travels, we kindly suggest responding to official emails or calls and maintaining a basic understanding of English, as it can greatly help avoid any confusion and ensure a smooth experience rather than limiting communication to one language. Thank you for your understanding. Warm regards, Chris Merrin Co-Founder Bayroutes
The palace is wonderful but the audio guide is unclear both in terms of directions and in terms of clearly linking it to one place. A numbering system would fix this. You WILL lose track and then you don’t know if you are ahead or behind the audio.
The actual sites we visited were good and interesting. However poor communication spoiled the experience. We booked this trip weeks in advance for 11:30am and arranged the rest of our day accordingly. We were told to expect instructions at least two hours in advance. In fact we got a text 90 minutes before our planned allotted time advising a revised time of 13:30hrs. We were also told we would need earphones but this was too late as we had left our hotel. The audio guide is apparently on an app you have to download on your phone. We queued up for the Baptistry for some time to be told we should have first used a bag drop so had to deposit bags and queue again. No representative present just a phone call saying information sent. Could have been much better with improved communication.
It all went very well. On the day of the experience I was contacted and sent me afterwards by whatsapp the tickets and all the information.
