Description

Explore the beautifully landscaped Boboli Gardens, adorned with over 500 sculptures, fountains, and breathtaking views of Florence. Stroll along the Viottolini, the main avenue lined with cypress trees, and explore the garden's many hidden corners, including the Grotto of Moses, the Grotto of the Animals, and the iconic Neptune Fountain. The route rises from the Ammannati courtyard behind the Pitti Palace through a sequence of set-pieces: the Amphitheatre, built on the site of a former stone quarry and centred on an Egyptian obelisk; the Grotto of Buontalenti, an extraordinary artificial cave of stalactites, frescoes, and sculpture; the Fountain of Neptune and the Fountain of the Ocean; the Viottolone, the long cypress avenue descending toward Porta Romana; the Kaffeehaus, an 18th-century Rococo pavilion rare in Tuscany; the Lemon House, built by Zanobi del Rosso in 1777–78; and the Knight's Garden, the Garden of Madama, and the Grotto of Adam and Eve.

Great view

Beautiful grounds and views . A little bit hilly, tough for 70 year olds. The heat was extraordinary hot and make sure to take plenty of water to hydrate. There was a lot of construction going on as well so no fountains working which takes away from the experience

Operator response

Dear Randy S, Thank you for your valuable feedback. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful gardens and the stunning views. We also appreciate your comments regarding the hilly terrain, the hot weather, and the restoration work affecting some of the fountains. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and we hope to welcome you again for an even better experience in the future.

The ticket did not work; it could not be processed at the counter. According to the staff, I was not registered, and I had to buy two additional tickets to see the Boboli Garden.

Waste of money! Tour wouldn’t refund!

The gardens have repairs & scaffold all over. Fountain was not running and being repaired. It’s essentially a steep walk through hedges. We left 15 minutes into the tour. Sucks, don’t waste your money.

Operator response

Dear Stephanie B, Thank you for your feedback, and we’re very sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations. As part of a long-term conservation initiative, the Boboli Gardens are currently undergoing a restoration, which may result in certain areas being temporarily inaccessible. This information is mentioned in the booking details.

Tickets NEVER received and paid for

Ordered tickets thru viator, paid and my card was charged. The tickets were never delivered and even after emails they sent confirming purchase. I went to download and no download. Called the tour operator who to no surprise is in India. No one picked up and I kept getting disconnected. Just go and buy the tickets at gate. Tickets are $15 per person. No tour guide needed. Each exhibit has a unique biography noted in front of it. The place is beautiful but buyer beware. You do NOT need a tour.

Operator response

Dear Desiree P Thanks for your feedback, we are sorry to hear this, the tickets were shared as a pdf attachment as well on your WhatsApp, we are sorry to hear that you missed checking the same.

I didn’t realize the...

I didn’t realize the whole property was under construction. Also, if they would add benches to rest and more exit signs, it would make it easier for those that can’t walk as far. I’m sure it is beautiful when it isn’t under construction

Operator response

Dear Denise B, Thanks for your feedback, We are glad you had a nice time at the Gardens, we are sorry about your experience we will make it easier for future & pass on your feedback to the Boboli gardens.
