Your local great guide and the driver will pick up at your cruise port or airport upon arrival. Spend few mins to discuss with your guide the places you are interested to visit. Typically, your day begins with the visit to the Gulangyu Island((KulangSu), explore the beautiful “Garden on the Sea” and admire the various old European architecture, visit the classic Shuzhuang Garden as well as other popular attractions such as Sunlight Rock, Piano Museum, old charming streets. Then take a break to enjoy a delightful lunch or dinner (Depends on the tour departure time), your guide will recommend the local delicacies base on your own dietary requests.
Continue the tour to visit Nanputuo Temple, a famous and popular Buddhist temple which was built around 6th century. Follow your guide to visit different complex of the temple, learn about the local religious culture, custom, enjoy a short hiking to the top and have a great view of the beautiful coastal line city.
Next visit Hulishan Fortress, an important fort in the history to defend Xiamen city when Japanese Empire attacked China. Check different sites include the massive Krupp canon installed in the Qing Dynasty, military hardware etc. In addition, enjoy the spectacular view of the city over the harbor.

I had a wonderful experience and the tour guide are knowledgeable with exceptional English. This is the best decision and they customised the trip and locations based on what I prefer to visit / do.
We had a great time on our private tour during our flight connection in Xiamen. We were picked up and dropped off at the airport. We got to see the many highlights the city has to offer. Most of the tour is by foot, so be ready to do a lot of walking. We walked close to 30K steps that day. I recommend you let the tour guy in advance of any special requests or places you’d like to see. The cost is a bit pricey for Asian standards but worth it given the limited amount of time we had and the options available. I would recommend this to friends whenever they have a long flight connection in Xiamen.
