We went on a three week trip around Sri Lanka with our excellent driver - Hasantha. As a family with two small children it was really important to us that we had a driver/guide who could not only be flexible but was friendly and liked children! Hasantha didn't disappoint. From the very beginning, Hasantha was professional, reliable, and calm. We always felt very safe and he took a lot of care to ensure that our plans worked for the small children - stopping whenever and wherever we needed too. We felt very lucky that he was willing to share his knowledge and passion for Sri Lanka's culture, history, and nature with us. He showed us some amazing sights that friends travelling with a different operator/guide didn't get to see. We also had a lot of fun! and was very sad to leave him at the end of our trip. If you're travelling to Sri Lanka and need a driver I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hasantha.

Excellent service. Our driver Harsha was amazing. He gave good guidance as to what to see and do, chose good spots for lunch and toilet breaks, and was good company. Pick up and drop off were super smooth and the communication excellent.

We visited Sri Lanka for 5 days during our honeymoon and Ceylon Escapes was recommended by a friend. We were allocated a fantastic driver called Wijaya. He stayed with us for the entire trip and helped with the airport pick up/ drop off at Colombo. Wijaya helped us plan our itinerary once we arrived and had so many great suggestions. He was really flexible with timings and we managed to include some rest breaks in between hikes, visiting monuments and factory visits/ experiences. His English is very good and above all he is a very safe driver. We couldn’t recommend him enough! Thank you Wijaya!

We have traveled 2 weeks through Sri Lanka using Ceylon Escapes and can definitely recommend this! Prior to the trip we presented our initial plan and received several suggestions from Ceylon Escapes to improve the route a bit. Communication was fast and clear. The trip itself we did together with our driver Samantha. He really went to great lengths to make our holiday as smooth as possible and take all our worries off our hands. Every day he came up with enough suggestions based on our itinerary and any other sights we hadn't thought of ourselves. As a guide he has told us so much about the culture, nature and history. This has allowed us to get so much more out of our holiday in advance.

We recently got back from our Sri Lanka family tour— Kandy, Ella, Yala, Galle, Bentota, and Colombo — and honestly, the trip wouldn't have been half of what it was without our guide Wijaya. He's the kind of guide who actually knows the country and can tune the trip to the pace of the group. Whether we were at the Temple of the Tooth, tracking leopards through Yala, or getting lost (happily) inside Galle Fort, Wijaya had a story, a context, or a local angle that made each place click. And the secret waterfall he took us to in Ella? That alone was worth the trip. What stood out most, though, was how easy he made everything feel. He was calm when logistics got tricky, patient when we had a hundred questions, and somehow always knew what we needed before we asked. It never felt like a tour — it felt like travelling with a friend who just happened to know everything about Sri Lanka. If you're planning a trip there, do yourself a favour and ask for Wijaya specifically. Five stars, without a second thought.

We have made a wonderful trip through Sri Lanka. With Anjana as driver, but more importantly as guide, this trip has become even more enjoyable than expected. Anjana has not only brought us safely from location to location, but he has also given us good tips and in consultation to places outside the tourist spots. Because of this we have certainly seen parts of the real Sri Lanka. If we ever come back, I definitely want to go on tour with Anjana again!

We received clear and prompt communication with Ayanthi, Dirk and the Ceylon Escapes team from the very first contact. They were very helpful in providing the best way to see Sri Lanka in our timeframe. Our driver for our customised trip, Geethanga was great, he collected us in Hiriketiya and we spent the next 6 days in his safe and capable hands, he always was prompt when meeting us and always kept in contact. He was a very careful and confident driver in the mayhem of Sri Lankan traffic, his car was very clean, comfortable and there was always a fresh bottle of water at the ready. There was the odd hiccup with language in conversation but we managed through this with a laugh and good humour. Geethanga helped to arrange activities along the way through his established contacts, and found every one of them knowledgeable and reasonably priced.
