Excellent tour for a family with young children. Our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend
Our guide never showed up! We waited and waited with two very excited children to do a fun family tour, and she never showed up, answered her cell, or answered a text! Waste of time. We did get a refund from Viator (how we booked it), but our whole day was planned around this and we were very disappointed.
Hi there, We are deeply sorry for the frustration and disappointment caused by your guide not showing up, especially with your children looking forward to the experience. This is far from the level of service we aim to provide, and we regret the inconvenience and disruption to your day. We will investigate what happened to ensure this does not occur again and take steps to prevent such situations in the future. Kind regards, Withlocals Team
We travelled as a family of six with our two kids (aged 7 and 4) and grandparents, and this tour with Marco was one of the highlights of our trip to Venice. From the moment we met, it was clear that Marco was extremely passionate about the history and stories behind the beautiful city of Venice, and the way he explained things as we walked completely captivated our children (who were otherwise not looking forward to a two hour walking tour up and down the many bridges of Venice). Marco kept all of us engaged and entertained with his sense of humour, and answered nearly all of our questions with ease. (You can tell you have a good guide when he is excited by questions!) The small tablet he had on hand to show pictures of Venice in the past was also very exciting for the children. As we walked by several giant tour groups using headsets, we were convinced that we made the right choice as this tour gave us a personalised experience where the kids were able to interact with the guide seamlessly. The tour went by so quickly, and Marco set us up with some good recommendations for lunch nearby. Would highly recommend this for anyone travelling with kids and wants a small cozy tour to really understand Venice!
Claudia was wonderful! She was great with the kids. It was a nice leisurely place with plenty of stops for snacks, as well as entertaining stories.
We loved our tour with Elena, it was definitely the highlight of our time in Venice. She did a great job keeping our kids (9 & 5) interested and engaged, and we learned so many little things about Venice we never would have in a larger tour. We spent majority of time in the non-touristy areas and loved every minute of it! Thank you Elena!
Romy was a wonderful tour guide! She answered all our questions and kept the kids engaged! We stopped by a sweets shop and got to sample some chocolates and biscuits and she ended the tour what gelato for the kids!
Adair did an excellent job of sharing the highlights of Venice as well as typical Venetian things during our family tour. She kept both parents and 4 kids (ages 3, 9, 12 & 13) engaged the whole time. Our train was late arriving so she was flexible with us about needing to get something to eat and incorporated two stops for Venetian street food along the way. I highly recommend a family tour of Venice with Adair!
Claudia gave our family a wonderful time showing us her special areas in Venice. She was warm, enthusiastic and fun and her stories about Venetian life now and in past times were fascinating for our teenagers and very interesting for the adults. We saw & discovered things we would never have found on our own. She had fun activities for the girls, which the adults also joined in, we ate cakes & pastries at the best bakery and she gave us many suggestions for visiting & eating for the next few days. Our walk with Claudia was a highlight of our time in Venice.
We are a family of four, including two teens (ages 17 and 13). I chose this tour not because of the games/activities geared toward kids (in fact, I messaged the guide in advance specifically saying we did not want that since my kids are older) but because I wanted a two-hour walking tour of Venice and the others I found were three hours in duration. We were in Venice this past June just as a heat wave hit Italy, and I figured two hours of walking would be plenty. :) Our guide (I believe her name was Claudia) was friendly, engaging, flexible and worked in a couple specific spots we wanted to see. (My son wanted to see a couple locations that were in one of the Spider Man movies.) She also was incredibly knowledgeable and we learned a lot about Venetian history and culture. Highly recommend this tour as a great way for anyone (of any age) to see Venice.
We cannot say enough wonderful things about the incredible tour Elena gave to me and my family. I have two kids (13 and 10) and not once did they ask "what time is it?" or "is it almost over?" I also never once looked at my watch because Elena had us ENTHRALLED. Her knowledge of the city is unmatched and her passion to share her love if Venice kept me hoping the tour would never end. The first thing we did upon returning to the hotel was to book another tour with Elena. She was warm, friendly, engaging and truly cared about what we wanted to hear and learn. All the stars to Elena. We absolutely fell in love with Venezia and we cannot recommend her enough.
