An excellent day trip from Calgary to Waterton National Park and Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump with Rockies and Badland Explorer. Everything about this tour exceeded my expectations. The scenery throughout the trip was absolutely stunning. Waterton National Park is a beautiful destination with breathtaking landscapes, and the addition of Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump made this tour truly unique. This historic site is rarely included in similar day trips on the market, and it was definitely worth visiting. It added a fascinating cultural and historical dimension to the experience. The tour was very well organized, with a thoughtfully planned itinerary and excellent selection of stops. The timing at each location was just right, allowing us to enjoy the attractions without feeling rushed. A special thanks to our driver and guide, Waleed, who was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the day. He made the journey enjoyable and ensured everything ran smoothly. The vehicle was in excellent condition—very new, clean, spacious, and comfortable, which made the long drive relaxing. Complimentary snacks and beverages were also provided, which was a thoughtful touch and greatly appreciated.
I had the pleasure to taking the Waterton National Park Tour with Rockies & Badlands Explorers. Waleed, the owner, picked me up at the designated airport hotel location in a 2026 Lexus vehicle. Several clients had canceled due to the 2 weeks of bad weather Calgary had experienced prior to the tour date, but Waleed kept the tour for the 2 remaining clients. This is a rare occurrence as usually tour companies may cancel the tour if there aren’t enough passengers. Most companies supply room temperature bottled water, but Waleed’s company went far beyond the typical fare. Regular and sparking water were chilled in a cooler as well as various soda /pop and iced coffee drinks. Snacks of chips and candy bars were offered throughout the tour. Waleed’s company offered a unique stop at the Head-Smashed-in Buffalo Jump World Heritage Site which was an unexpected delight. I believe he is the only day tour company who stops here. The rest of the tour to Waterton Lake National Park was great. He even stopped at the Bison Padlock Loop twice when we couldn’t see any bison the 1st time. They were hiding behind a hill. We were blessed with a full double rainbow on our way back to Calgary.
