The tour was fun, informative and interesting. Our guide, Alexander (Zander) and his driver were outstanding. My only issue is that the tour was sold with a ride on their famous tram, which has been closed for 18 months waiting to be rebuilt. They need to change their advertisement.

We communicate often with the management and government liaisons to ensure accurate information. It says so much that we received a 5-Star review, regardless. We left from Our apartment and hoped we would take the tram up to the mountain, but unfortunately the tram is out of operation and we were instead driven up the mountain with a small truck. The mountain was a nice experience, but had hoped that the tram was in operation.

We were able to experience Puerto Plata, but there wasn’t much time to fully enjoy. Also, the cable car wasn’t running which would have been the highlight of the day. They drove us up the mountain instead.
It was a great day in Puerto Plata with Anthony. Maybe it should not have been sold as a cable car ride since the cable car has been inoperable for around two years, but the drive up the mountain was actually quite enjoyable.
Hi! Thank you for the review. Anthony is awesome. We just wanted to let you know that the cable car has been operating and not inoperable for two years. We operators were notified very recently that operations would cease for renovations. The cable car is now undergoing complete renovation to the building which houses the gondolas including major upgrades to restrooms, etc. We hope you come back to see us very soon so you can experience the ride down in the cable car. Our regular experience always includes the mountain drive up and the cable car ride down. We hope you enjoyed the beautiful botanical gardens as well as the photo opportunities with the Christ statue and the mountain vista :-)
We had a wonderful time! Our guide Winston was knowledgeable and helpful! Even with the top of the mountain in a cloud - we still enjoyed our ride down and had beautiful views of the city.
Alex our guide was the best! He was above and beyond with friendliness and knowledge. He kept us entertained the entire trip and always looked out for every guest wherever we were, making sure we were always safe and informed. He was eager to help anyone in need of anything. Our driver Luis was a fantastic driver in the midst of those crazy streets with all the scooters zooming in and out. We felt very safe with Luis behind the wheel!
Our tour guide Westin is awesome!! Very professional and knowledgeable. He makes sure everybody is comfortable and safe. He’s very experience at what he does because all the other tour guides acknowledged him when we’re out in public.
Puerto Plata was the final stop of our cruise and we booked this tour last minute - we are so glad we did. Alex is a very informative and well spoken guide. He really gave us the sense of history, culture and community. We spent the first part of the tour visiting sites in the city in a much appreciated air-conditioned van. We were a small group which then broke into two - those who were spending the next few hours at the beach and us who were heading to the cable car. Another guide was dedicated to the beach group and we were lucky to have Alex as our private guide for the rest of the trip. The van took us to the top of the mountain where the views were simply breathtaking and the temperature thankfully much cooler. Surprisingly the cable car ride was quite smooth. Once back down it was a quick trip in the van to the cruise port. Chilled water, rum punch and freshly picked bananas were all offered as refreshments.
Our tour guide, Xander, was excellent! He was informative and attentive to our group ensuring everyone was happy and nobody was left behind. We had a great time and would not hesitate to book this again!

We really enjoyed the time spent with Xander. He was very informative, helpful, and kind. The excursion was put together well and organized. The reason I cannot give a 5 star is because at the Christus Redentor Statue we were encouraged to buy souvenirs for a good price without tax. After using my credit card, I found out I was charged tax and charged more than the price I was told for the items. Doing this excursion, wait and buy items at the shops at the end of the excursion and do not buy from the top of the mountain before the tram.

Thanks so much for the time you gave to review our tour and company :-) What we do as we are arriving to the summit of Mount Isabela, is explain to our guests that there are shopkeepers that could approach and we explain its a good idea to say, "no thanks". We do not encourage or promote shopping. The free-time in town is for taking photos after a comprehensive tour with historical and cultural information. There is very little time to step into shops in Central Park. We will continue to do all we can to provide the highest level of service. HAPPY SAILING!
