Tuk tuk tour of Kavala city

Yesterday we had such an amazing day in Kavala. Our guide Kostas was funny and informative a great tour guide. The tuk tuk was a fab way of getting around the city especially the old town and Kostos was happy for us to get out at points, take photographs or explore further. I would highly recommend.

The driver was very nice...

The driver was very nice and excited to share his city. Our “two hour” tour was one hour and 45 minutes. My suggestion is that drivers must be prepared with alternative stops if the customers don’t stay in places as long as expected. Also, seeing tobacco warehouses and city buildings aren’t as fulfilling as learning and seeing into Kavala’s past. I have tobacco manufacturing where I come from, too. I don’t, however, have castles that are hundreds of years old.

Operator response

Dear Miranda, Thank you for your comments. The tour lasts an average of 2 hours, based on detailed measurements we have taken and taking into account factors such as the duration of visits, traffic on the city streets, and other factors; for this reason, in many cases the duration may exceed two hours. Also, since the routes are approved by the relevant tourism authorities, deviations are not permitted. The fact that you didn’t like the tobacco warehouses and the city’s buildings, simply because you come from a tobacco-producing town, doesn’t mean they aren’t historic landmarks of the city of Kavala. Besides, our tobacco warehouses and buildings date back to 1800, when the U.S. was only 17 years old!!!

Good tour

Nice way to see the city, but our driver did not speak English, and the speaker for the recorded audio did not have volume adjustment which was not loud enough for my grandmother who has hearing trouble. However, there was a group of 3 tuk tuks traveling together, and one of the other drivers spoke English, so he was able to give the history and answer questions.

THE KAVALA VISIT = HORRIBLE. Do not take this tour.

The meet point not a short walk. The guides narrative was inaudible. We sat for 45 min waiting duringf 2 hr tour. Never again. Did not see anything to remember.

Operator response

We are sorry for the experience you had with us, but your review is false and does not reflect the quality of our services. 1st: The Meeting Point is only a 10-minute walk, as shown on Google Maps. 2nd: Due to external noise, the sound from our vehicles is sometimes limited. That is why the tour guide summarizes what you have heard at each stop and enriches the content, and 3rd, throughout the entire tour, we make stops at the most important landmarks for photos and enough time for exploration and visits, such as the city’s fortress, to which we take you as close as possible. From there on, if for any reason you do not wish to or are unable to visit these sites, this is not our responsibility.

Kavala by Tuk Tuk

The cars are narrow, so obese passengers might feel cramped. However. we saw a great deal and were given good information from locals.

Cute way to get around Kavala

THIS WAS the nicest way to get around Kavala! WE LOVED how the TUK TUK got thru tight spaces and felt very comfortable with our driver. Although he spoke little English, there was a tape playing. However, we couldn’t ask questions so that was a little disappointing. All in all we did have a good time.

A lot easier than walking.

As we passed walkers they all wanted to hop on board. Good way to see city. Recorded messages describing spots we stopped at.

Highly recommend Tuk Tuk tours in Kavala.

We had a wonderful tour of the city. The TukTuks can take you places buses can’t. The tour guide was great and they dropped us off at the port at the end of the tour.
