Itinerary
Start your day tour in Aswan by getting picked up from your hotel or cruise ship and drive to tour the marvels of one of the most famous stone objects left from ancient Egypt in Aswan, the Unfinished Obelisk. Learn the story behind the creation of the largest known obelisk from an independent tour guide at the site (***optional, separate cost), the Unfinished Obelisk believed to be commissioned by Hatshepsut (c. 1473-1458 BC) for the temple of Amun in Karnak. This remarkable Obelisk monument carved of granite stone would have stood about 42 meters (about 137 feet tall) and weighed around 1,200 tons, remains unfinished where it was carved due to a crack discovered in the structure.
Continue your tour on a motorboat to the magnificent Philae Temple. Enjoy the scenic views along the Nile of beautiful Aswan. One of the best sites of Aswan, Philae Temple, also known as the Temple of Isis, constructed during the Ptolemaic period (305 BCE to 30 BCE) was dedicated to the Goddess Isis, Osiris, and Horus of ancient Egypt. This beautiful Philae temple complex is one of the most picturesque in all of Egypt consisting of architectural structures, the main temple, chapels, and shrines of Egyptian and Greco-Roman styles. Learn about the greatness of Egyptian history, your independent tour guide at the site (***optional, separate cost) will take you on a walking tour through the temple before allowing you free time to explore further on your own.
Next, continue with a drive to the Aswan High Dam. Built in the 1960s, the Aswan High Dam, a major engineering project, is one of the world’s largest dams. The importance of the High Dam is to generate hydroelectric power, control the flow of the Nile River from flooding, and provide water supply for irrigation. Enjoy the beautiful views of Lake Nasser from the top of the High Dam, along with sights of the huge power station to the north and Kalabsha temple to the south.
Our final stop takes us to a Nubian Village, where you’ll experience the unique culture of the Nubian people. Enjoy all the beautiful colors of the Nubian houses, wander amongst the delightful artwork, embrace the culture of the native people in the Village at your leisure, and spend some time shopping for handcrafted souvenirs and gifts. The tour concludes with a drop-off at your accommodation in Aswan.

Excellent guide. Big day where we see a temple by boat, spices, high dan, Nubian village and wonderfull people. We finished the day with one of our best meal of our trip. We recommand.
We had a great experience with our guide. He was very friendly and flexible. He shared interesting facts about the places we visited and made sure we saw a lot throughout a day. The driving was comfortable, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. A nice highlight was that he also took us to a restaurant for dinner, which added a great local touch. Overall, a well-organized and enjoyable tour. Highly recommended.
This was an exceptional tour with a guide who went out of his way to deliver the tour as described and more. Very punctual and organised he made the 6 hours packed with insights.
It was an excellent tour! We got to have a real Egyptian / Aswan experience that felt close to the culture, while also getting to see the sights.
Karam is a very good driver and human being. Thanks to him I had a wonderful time at Philae temple. He also escorted me to the Nubian village and explained their culture. Thank you Karam.
Wonderful experience. Karam is a good driver and guide. Most importantly a good human being. I enjoyed my trip immensely thanks to him. Would highly recommend him.
Very welcoming driver/guide we felt like home in the car. No issues with pick up or drop off from the hotel. He’s a local from Aswan that knows all the ins and outs of the area.
Excellent Karam Gamal Travel operator! The trip was well organized and covered Philae Temple, the High Dam, and the Nubian Village. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly, and everything ran smoothly. Highly recommended for a memorable Aswan experience.
Super guide He was punctual and very good driver We saw many different places Fabulous experience I fully recommend
We had less than one day in Aswan and wanted to hit all major sites (Philae temple, unfinished obelisk, high dam and Nubian village) within Aswan. Karam’s tour was the only one I can find that included them all and has multiple start times, which was the perfect fit for our need and schedule. We chose 11am start time and whole tour took 6 hours. Highly recommended.
