In Forza d’Agrò we will walk in the medieval heart of the village, iconic set of the saga. We will see the square of the famous puppet ball and the historic priest's bicycle used during the filming. The tour continues to the birthplace of the Corleone family and the monumental Chiesa dell’Annunziata. Here, between the stone alleys and the main square, we will relive the most famous scenes from the film in an authentic and timeless atmosphere.
In Savoca you will experience the emotion of the film aboard a typical Calessino Bee. Starting from the legendary Bar Vitelli, where Michael Corleone proposed to Apollonia, you will comfortably cross the alleys of the village to the Church of San Nicolò, set of the iconic wedding. Walking through the ancient streets of these iconic locations was truly an emotional and unforgettable experience. We had an amazing day with our fabulous guide and driver, Salvo. The drive up to Forza d’Agro was scenic and the village was so charming. Walking the quiet village streets felt like walking through history -as well as cinematic history. Loved seeing the filming locations from The Godfather (church backdrop, front door of “Corleone home,” village streets) as well as grabbing a coffee from a local cafe where the bicycle the priest rode was on display. From there, we went to Savoca, to see the iconic Bar Vitelli. We took a fun Ape taxi through the narrow streets for panoramic views and to visit the church where Michael and Apollonia got married. Enjoyed a fruit delicious lunch at Geronelso. A 10 out of 10 day!
