Our path will lead us along Calle 31 de Agosto, a street that serves as a poignant relic of ancient San Sebastián. It was on this very thoroughfare that a pivotal moment in history unfolded in 1813 when English and Portuguese forces, allied with the Spanish, triumphed over the French troops that had held dominion over the city. Without a doubt, one of the best food tours we've ever done! Matteo was an amazing guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about Basque cuisine and the history of San Sebastián. Our agency booked us a food tour with Matteo in the historic center of San Sebastián and it was just gorgeous. Matteo took us to some authentic bars where we would never have entered without him, making us discover really special places. We tasted amazing wines, including Txakoli and excellent Rioja wines, accompanied by delicious pintxos. Matteo was very competent, nice and passionate, making the experience even more enjoyable.
