We provide free pickup & drop-off from hotels, guesthouses and villas within Udawalawe town and nearby areas (within 5 km of the park). Pickup from Embilipitiya, Thanamalvila, Wellawaya or other towns can be arranged for an additional fee — contact us after booking to confirm pickup location and price. Guests from Colombo or Ella can request private transport to Udawalawe; please message us for a custom quote.

Superb excursion with Udawalawe Safari Fun. We were picked up from our hotel on time by Anurada in a clean car with impeccable driving. The driver provided us with a lot of information about the country. Then we met Amila, the Jeep driver, at the park entrance. He was very pleasant, and his vehicle was spotless. We were even treated to a small snack and drink. We explored the park for three hours and saw many elephants, males, females, and babies, the youngest being less than a month old. We also spotted buffalos, crocodiles, mongooses, bee-eaters, bambis, monkeys, and more. The entire day was easy to organize for us, and everything went very smoothly. We highly recommend the team for this excursion. It's worth noting that the prices are very reasonable for the quality of service. Many thanks to everyone.

Very well organised. Just the communication in english during the tour could be a bit better. Also in the safari the english was not great (not the responsibility of this tour).

We went for the 8am safari tour. The process of booking the safari was seamless and the tour provider was very responsive. We managed to see most of the animals - elephants, peacocks, eagles, water buffaloes, deer, crocodiles, jackal / fox, monkeys and some birds. Our driver brought us close to the elephants which was amazing. We would have appreciated bit more information on the type of birds / animals we were spotting.

We’ve been on 2 safaris previously and this was by far the best. The driver was very experienced and knew the places to see wildlife. He was very knowledgeable about the animals and plants in the park and we came away with so much. I would recommend Udawalawe Safari Fun for a great day out.

The national park excursion was a fantastic experience! Our guide, Navee, was exceptional—he went above and beyond to help us spot wildlife, taking unique routes that really enhanced the adventure. A major highlight was seeing 19 elephants up close, an unforgettable sight that made the trip even more special. One thing to note: while the description mentions it, if you don’t read the details carefully, you might miss that some costs are separate. For a family of five, we had to pay around 33k in local currency for the transfer if you’re not staying near the park, plus an additional 48k for the park tickets. Overall, a great excursion with just a couple of extra fees to keep in mind!
