Every Day Cooking Class in Lucca Italy

Description
If you want to try real Lucca’s flavors you are in the right place. We will make everything together and at the end we will eat what we cooked with a good glass of wine as accompaniment. Also kids can cook with us and actively participate to the cooking class. It is an excellent opportunity to learn how Italian grandma’s cook. We are here to learn and have fun by cooking together! We will cook pasta and tiramisù together, two very typical italian dishes and in the meanwhile we drink local wine or aperitivo! Vegetarian, vegan and no dairy options.

Wonderful father/daughter instructor team led our family through making homemade rage, pasta, and tiramisu. The food was fantastic and they were lovely hosts. The only thing I would say to be aware of is that this is in commercial kitchen setting- not in a home or patio. Other cooking classes we have taken are in more of a residential or patio setting but this is very commercial- not a typical dining situation.
Thank you so much!
This cooking class was absolutely worth it! Miss Giulie was wonderful , such an amazing chef and teacher. She taught us so much and was especially patient and kind with my toddler, which meant so much to us as a family. She was incredibly knowledgeable, especially being so young, and everything we prepared was delicious. She also had wine and cheese for us, which was such a lovely touch. The cooking space was very clean, organized, and welcoming. This was truly an awesome experience for my family and me, and it is something I will never forget. Thank you again, Miss Giulie, for making it so special. Please book this experience you will not be disappointed. It is absolutely worth it!
Thank you so much for this wonderful message. We appreciate it a lot.
My wife and I attended this cooking class taught by a remarkable young lady, Giulia. As my wife eats plant-based foods only for health reasons, the menu was adapted for this. We met at the Cremeria Opera store where her family makes artisinal gelato and many other local foods. Giulia greeted us and was well prepared with printed recipes for us to keep, aprons to wear, a local wine, and all the many recipe items. We made pasta from scratch with semolina flour, a Tuscan tomato soup called Pappa al pomodore, and a local unleavened cake using chestnut flour. Chestnut trees are native to this region and we saw these trees while hiking in Cinque Terre. We learned that this flour is is a special food source, particularly during times of scarcity and political unrest. While Giulia taught us to cook with modern tools such as food scales, we also learned the art of cooking based on touch, smell, taste, and sight. This activity provided great value, as it included personal instruction from a trained chef with deep local roots, all the ingredients needed for a hearty meal with dessert, a local wine pairing, and access to an industrial kitchen. I also learned some Italian phrases and improved my pronunciations.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m very happy to hear that you enjoy the cooking class. It’s wonderful that you appreciated not just the cooking itself, but also the cultural context. Those connections are exactly what we hope guests take away from the class. We hope to welcome you both back again in the future. Thank you so much!
We loved this experience! Julia is a beautiful, genuine young lady who was absolutely lovely to be with. Since one of us is vegan, she treated us to an authentic Tuscan menu that was delicious. We cooked a chestnut cake, a tomato bread soup, and made noodles from scratch and ate them with sage infused olive oil! It was all so tasty and fresh. Julia also told us about food practices all over Italy and discussed the typical Italian family and their eating habits. Overall, a wonderful experience! Thank you. Julia!
Thank you so much for your beautiful words! It was truly a pleasure to cook together and share a bit of Tuscan food culture with you. I’m really happy that you enjoyed the experience. Cooking and talking about Italian traditions with guests like you is what makes these so special for me. Thank you again for being such lovely guests!
It was fantastic! Very neat that the class takes place in the business. The daughter/father team was very special. Loved the interaction.
Thank you for your fantastic review! We are pleased to know that we have met your expectations. We hope to see you again soon for another stay! A cordial greeting from our team.
Really enjoyed the cooking class in a small group and taught by Giulia. Making fresh pasta was not as easy as I thought so I need to practice when I return home. We were also assisted with a nice wine 🍷 which was very tasty. The laboratory and kitchen is a fascinating place where all many of local pastries are made as well as their favourite gelato
Thank you so much! Don’t give up, practice makes a big difference, I’m sure that you will see big results!
We loved every thing about this class. They invited us into their commercial kitchen where they make gelato and the most amazing desserts. First we made tiramisu and put it in the fridge to cool. Then Giuliani instructed us to make egg pasta. It was all hands on! We cooked it, then she mixed it with butter and Parmesan. So simple and yet so delicious!!
Thanks for your wonderful review! We’re so glad you had a great time in our cooking class. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon!
Great class with amazing instructor! The space is a commercial gelato and pastry kitchen so plenty of space for groups. Food was amazing. Highly recommend.
Thank you so much! It was a pleasure!
Julie was an excellent teacher and quite knowledgeable about Tuscan food history. I enjoyed it tremendously.
Thank you so much!
The lovely presentation by our hostess. Learning the history of the meal we were making. And of course enjoying the results.
