Everglades Small Group Guided Boating & Walking Tour Expedition

Description
This is a premier learning experience in the Everglades Area and is superb for the entire family... from toddlers to the grandparents. Limited to just six guests, it is a personalized eco-adventure. Every day is different in the Everglades and 10,000 Islands so we try to be very flexible and dynamic. The tour may/will include a bit of birding, some photography, strolling thru tidal pools, shelling on a remote beach and exploration of one of the 10,000 Islands. The first part of the experience is a guided boating eco tour in search of the areas rich wildlife. The second part is an interpretive, guided walk on a remote barrier island to explore the island's beaches, tidal pools and inter-tidal zones. Note: June through October, we suggest the morning experiences due to the weather.

The guide Darrel Daniels was a local with a perspective unlike other guides. He knew historical events and landmarks as well as personal details that added authenticity to our experience.
Thank you for the review!
We had a great time during our 3-day, 2-night adventure. Don McCumber (our guide) made the excursion even better. I expected him to be knowledgeable various channels and islands ... I was not surprised that he was engaging and participated with our crazy group during our campfire sing-a-longs! BUT ... I had no idea that he would have so much knowledge about the myriad of flora, fauna and creatures that we encountered. His insights into the various conchs, mollusks and crustaceans and their interactions was a highlight for me. AND ... did I mention his culinary talents? The menu was diverse, filling and flavorful ... I had not expected this. I should also mention the company in general (Charles, Dan). Easy to work with and flexible. These traits were a must when coordinating folks from multiple states. An adventure in the Everglades? Work with these folks! Aquaterra Excursions and Everglades Boat Tours
So grateful to see that you had a wonderful time camping and getting to know The Everglades. Dan truly knows the area, and so glad he shared so much with you, makes for a great add to what sounds like a fabulous excursion. Thank you so much for choosing us and taking time to leave your review.
Dan was a very knowledgeable guide and we learned a lot from him. It was nice to spend the afternoon out on the boat. Due to the weather we saw mostly birds, but a dolphin did stick its fin out of the water a few times!
We're so happy you enjoyed your tour, even though the weather wasn't as kind as it could have been. Dan really does know his stuff, so we're glad you still got a lot out of the excursion. Thank yo so much for touring with us and leaving a review.
Excellent tour of 10,000 Islands and the mangroves … Captain Dan knows his stuff , narrative items of the surrounding areas ,and of cultural interest … even managed to get the Dolphins to “ surf” behind the boat . My wife & I were very impressed with the tour , and highly recommend this experience !
We're so glad you had a great time on your excursion with Captain Dan. There really is So much to learn about the area and it's history. The dolphins area a wonderful treat to see in all their majesty too. Thank you so much for touring with us and leaving a review.
Had an easy drive down thru Everglade City. Captain Dan was wonderful! Saw dolphins, manatees, pelicans, egrets and blue herons.
thanks
The boating in the Everglades was wonderful. The weather was spectacular, and the tour guide knew a good deal about the ecosystem and history. There is a nice amount of boating, but very little walking. We really walked for only about 200 feet, I would guess.
Thanks .. the walking is about accessing the inter-tidal zones of the islands. Many times we, do not have to walk far.
Our guide Don, was the best! Very knowledgeable about birds, shells, and the mangroves. He added so much to the kayaking adventure. Just be prepared for no-see-ums.
Go Don! Thank you.
Capt. Charles Wright took me, my wife, and her parents out about a month ago. Great trip. Dude knows what he's talking about. The 5 green dots are for how solicitous Wright was of my elderly in-laws. Made it easy for them. Great way to spend the morning.
Thank you I'm so very glad you enjoyed your tour with me
This was a tremendous way to see the Everglades National Park. The Captain was terrific at spotting wild life on both land and water. He was very knowledgable, extremely friendly and amusing. We managed to see dolphins, sharks and a manatee together with a host of birds. There was little to fault with this trip. However no water was provided free or to buy this is, in my mind, a serious omission given the length of the trip, three hours, and a temperature well into the 90s. Whether this was a one off omission on this trip or a policy I do not know but it should be rectified immediately as I would suggest that this could be dangerous given the temperature. So be warned take plenty of water and you will have a great time.
Thank you
Great experience getting out in the mangroves and seeing lots of wildlife. Very knowledgeable guide on marine life, bird life, shellfish, and the history of the area. This is an ocean and river tour with an outboard motor. No airboat and no gators.
thank you
