Description
Etna Urban winery is a unique wine tourism experience. It is located in a natural spot on Etna surrounded by the expanding city, where we have decided to revive the historical family Etna viticulture. We are motivated by the love for a 8 generations' family property, and the desire to show that a different use of land is possible and feasible even within city's suburbs, that still retain the character of a typical Etna lava field. You will visit the vineyards at your own pace through the self guided vineyard trail. Take time to enjoy your walk, stop at viewpoints and learn at the information boards. Immerse in the austere atmosphere of our 1790 historical winery and still largely in its original shape. And finally, explore our cousine! Our resident chef Leonardo is looking forward to delight you with a culinary journey across the four slopes of Etna, 4 wines paired with 4 gourmet bites, followed by a main course.

They called to cancel an hour before the tour and dinner. And of course, by then it was too late to book anything else.
Dear Jennifer, We are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused. Unfortunately, your reservation was made at 9PM, after our reservation office had already closed at 8:30 PM. Our office reopens the following day at 1:00 PM, and due to a technical synchronization issue between Viator/Tripadvisor and our booking platform, the reservation did not appear in our system. Additionally, the tour was already fully booked and, if the systems had synchronized correctly, the booking would not have been accepted. As soon as we became aware of the reservation at 1:00 PM, we immediately tried to contact you in order to explain the situation and assist you as quickly as possible. This was the best winery experience! I loved that there was a shuttle option for both picking up and dropping off. Angelo gave us a great tour of the vineyard and told us about the history and the role of the winery today. It was great context, and I loved seeing the inspiration for their wine names/labels. It felt unique that it was an urban winery, and it's so great to know the important environmental role they're playing. Then the tasting and dinner were so amazing, five wines with five courses. I have a seafood allergy, and while some of the menu changes for me felt a bit basic, it was nice to know that it could be accommodated, and the food itself was delicious. Angelo gave great explanations and was so engaging and fun. What we really loved is that at no point did the experience feel pretentious or fussy. When asked what the best wine is, Angelo made it clear that it's about preference, and he can study and learn as much as he wants, but 'best' is subjective. It felt super inclusive and just overall a refreshing and lovely evening. Highly recommend!
This tour was excellent. Our tour guide was very informative and the location beautiful. The food and wine pairing was exceptional and all-in-all excellent value for money. Could not recommend this enough.
Great dinner and honestly a very interesting tour. We had a great time. They were also super accommodating of our baby, which was great.
We got to the winery and were received warmly immediately ! The wineries 3 legged dog stole the show for my kids and I as soon as we stepped into the waiting area. From there the guide was informative, knowledgeable and friendly. He even informed me of a children's area where my kids could run, play, color and enjoy the winery with us. They even had a special scavenger hunt for the kids on the wine tour where they needed to find rock animals throughout the tour. The food was fantastic and the wines were amazing ! They were super understanding of my 2 yr old, who was getting alittle antsy. They immediately brought coloring papers and markers over for him and really made him feel included. They even had special meals for all the kids, which was amazing! I would definitely recommend this tour to friends, families, and people with children!
Absolutely brilliant! The setting is beautiful. Our host Emanuele was welcoming, very knowledgeable and presented a most interesting and enjoyable experience.
Very nice experience, highly recommended. A nice story was told where it became clear where their wine comes from, saw a lot and took a walk over the vineyard, beautiful. The food afterwards was also really delicious. One of our highlights of the holiday was definitely this wine tasting. Again an absolute must!
We were 5 adults who went here to Etna Urban Winery. There was a tour, wine tasting and lunch. Everything was superb. Interesting tour and then we got to taste 4 delicious wines, while there was lunch served with many Sicilian specialities. We had some lovely hours here. Can be highly recommended.
Rather small groups, we were 10 people all together, we got lot of information on the history of the vineyard and a walk through the site which was not very big, so easy accessible.
An enchanting site. Very small and young vineyard and very small production. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The 4 accompanying dishes were good but not for vegetarians. You have to make it clear if you are, which I have not. Three of the four wines tasted were not from this vineyard. Moreover, Etna urban red was delicious but very expensive 60 euros (2022) and 90 euros (2021) first production. I would not recommend this place. Find a place where all their wines are on Mount Etna.
