Etna Summit Craters Excursion
Description
This tour will allow you to get close to the area of the summit craters of Etna characterized by the typical volcanic activity with gas and sulfur emissions. With the naturalistic guide you will go to the entrance of the Etna cable car and from here you will take the cable car that will take you to 2500mt., from there you will be transported by 4×4 bus to an altitude of 2800mt. where you will find the volcanological mountain guide who will show you the craters of the 2002 eruption and at the same time you will find yourself face to face with the smoking summit craters. It will also be possible to choose the option only with the ascent by cable car up to 2500 meters. At the end of the high-altitude tour, the guide will show you other peculiar elements of Etna located at lower altitudes to finally take you to a farm located in Zafferana Etnea to taste the typical products of the place.

Excursion that will allow you to observe from a close distance the active craters of Etna characterized by emissions of gas and sulfur. - Pick up at an accommodation or agreed meeting point - Visit to the summit area (reachable by cable car) at an altitude of 2900 meters with a volcanological mountain guide - Visit of a lava flow cave (helmets and torches provided) - Visit of the famous lava flow of 1991/93 which reached the gates of the town of Zafferana; - Tasting of typical products in a local company at Zafferana - Drop off at the accommodation or meeting point.

Our Mt Etna Summit excursion was nothing short of phenomenal. Our tour guide , Zelia spoke perfect English and was a knowledgeable and kind guide that shared loads of information from native plant species to geological facts about the volcano and its history. One of the highlights of our experience in Sicily. Highly recommend.
