We had an amazing experience! Our tour guide Serena was very knowledgeable and made the entire experience one to remember. It was worth every penny.
Very thorough tour highlighting Sicily. The tour guide was informative and interesting as well. Definitely recommend.
We had a very positive experience on our excursion to Mt. Etna and Taormina with our guide, Claudia. Claudia was respectful, kind, professional, and spoke English very well. She did a great job guiding us through the day and helping us understand what we were seeing, including the volcanic flows at Mt. Etna and the history and beauty of Taormina. The day did feel very rushed, but I want to be clear that this was not the fault of the tour provider or Claudia. It was simply a result of the short time in port dictated by the cruise schedule. With more time, this would have been an even better experience, but they did the best they could within a very limited window. One important tip for future cruisers visiting Taormina: the historic amphitheater is located at the far end of town. Since we only had about one hour there, we chose to walk to it, but with the crowds and the time it took to get there and back, we had almost no time for anything else and only about 15 minutes at the amphitheater itself. Unless seeing the amphitheater is your top priority, I would recommend skipping it and using the limited time to enjoy the town, shops, views, and atmosphere instead. Also, be aware that the toilets in Taormina are pay toilets, typically 1 euro, and there seemed to be very limited restroom options in town. Overall, we really appreciated Claudia and the tour provider. The excursion was well handled, respectful, and enjoyable, especially given the tight cruise port schedule.
Good experience but didn’t get to go to Etna. Went on a tour from our cruise ship. Drive through some Sicilian towns and get to sample local foods and products. Nice stop at Taormina but it was too long. The guide skipped Etna because it was foggy but other groups from the cruise ship got to go to Etna on the same day. It was disappointing because we were really looking forward to visiting Etna. We got to spend some time in Messina instead but it doesn’t compare. The guide was informative and friendly but given the cost of the tour and the fact that they didn’t go to Etna they really should refund passengers because frequently this portion is skipped due to weather
We loved everything about this excursion! Our guide, Giuseppe, did a wonderful job! He was very informative, funny, kind and patient! He took great care of us all day. Would definitely recommend!!
Our guide Carmelo and driver Alessandro were amazing! We took an air conditioned bus from Messina to Mt. Etna and our guide gave us information along the way. We toured the volcano area, went into a shop to taste honey, chocolate, and more and then purchased souvenirs. We got back in the bus and went to Taormina where we had time to explore on our own. Our tour guide provided great information, made sure we were comfortable at all times, and was friendly and funny. We had an amazing trip that my kids will remember for a lifetime! Grazie!!!
This was a really good trip. We were taken about half way up Mount Etna and Carmelo gave us loads of facts about the volcano and volcanic history on the Island. He and the driver looked after us very well and we learnt a lot about Sicily and its history.
This tour was one of the highlights of our entire trip! Carmello was an amazing guide and his passion for sharing his love and knowledge of Sicily was clear. Can't recommend this tour enough!
Our guide Carmelo explained very well what we needed to know about Sicily, the region we were in, and of course about Mount Etna.
We had a brilliant day led by Carmelo who was very knowledgeable about the local area and presented it in a really interesting style. Nothing was too much trouble and he gave us gifts along the way including an almond cake, a tasting session in the shop on mount Etna and a map of Taormina which he went through so we all knew exactly where we were going and what was best to see and where was really good to eat that wasn't too pricey. The whole day was excellent and extremely well organised and planned. Thank you.
