Antonio was great and he was chill and made a great trip
We're so glad you had a great time! We hope you come back again soon!
Was a great trip other than paddling against horrible strong winds! The Staff was great, met me there with everything I needed & explained everything necessary for the trip.
Hi there, We are glad that you enjoyed your tour and took on the springtime wind challenge! Good job on powering through with a great attitude. We hope to take you on another less breezy adventure soon.
I called pretty much every kayak rental place for Willow Beach and this was one of the more affordable ones that allowed us to bring our little ones (ages 1-7) as a 3rd passenger on the kayak. Most other places did not allow young kids or didnt allow to put them as a 3rd passenger on a tandem kayak. The kayaks were great- good condition and had ample room for dry bags, drinks, etc. We paddled up the river 2 miles to Emerald Cave. It really didnt take as long as I expected. I thought we had only paddled 1/2 a mile and boom- suddenly we were at Emerald Cave! Alittle less than an hour to paddle up there. Expect a wait line to get in to the cave for a photo. The only reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because when we returned the kayaks, Desert Adventures only had 1 guy to pick them up so he said he needed my husbands help to load all the boats, life jackets, etc. That took some time and we were in a hurry to leave and it was HOT. That was alittle unexpected. We actually returned the boats an hour early to shore- what would have happened if we had just left early? I'm not sure what that guy would have done... anyways. Overall, recommend the company! TIPS: park to the left of the marina, by the picnic awnings and beach. If you park close to the marina, you'll have to walk a ways to the each where you get in your kayak.
Kayaking the Colorado river below Hoover dam from Willow beach to the emerald cave was fantastic. Desert Adventures delivered our kayak with instructions and a map. We got on the water early and made it to the cave first before all the tour groups. The cave is nice but not very large. I would rate the kayaking the river equally interesting as going into the cave. Shout out to Desert Adventures and Antonio for being prompt and courteous. Definitely would use them again
Hi there and thank you for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed your tour and hope that you visit us again soon, perhaps for a longer tour and more canyon magic!
This was a 5-Star experience. The company was so easy and efficient to deal with. Our guide, Austen, was fantastic! He had a great deal of knowledge about the area and safety was always a concern. I treated my daughter and granddaughter to this trip and was anxious about it, and they loved it. We had a beautiful day and great memories were made!
Hi there and thank you for the amazing review. We are so happy that you enjoyed your adventure and hope that you and your family are able to visit again soon!
The experience was amazing end-to-end. We were met at Willow Beach by our guide Holmes. Great knowledge of the area's history, geology, and nature. We chose a canoe vs kayak because I thought it would be more comfortable and sitting a bit above the water. Most people on the water chose a kayak.
Hi there. Thank you for the review! We are happy to hear about your amazing tour. It is so beautiful on the river and Holmes is a favorite!
What a wonderful trip we had with Neal! This is a fantastic family run company, providing an excellent experience. We were collected from the pick up point, and had a wonderful drive through Boulder City (beautiful little place) to Willow Beach. We set of in our kayak for two, after instructions and guidance of course. The river is so beautiful, Neal had the right mix of telling us about the area but also allowing you to experience the stillness of the area. Emerald cove is a green as you envisage, great photo opportunity. Please don’t be put off if you don’t feel experienced in the water or kayak, the guides will make sure you are confident before you set off! Overall a wonderful experienced, we will absolutely use this company again, take a look at some of their other excursions and you can also book direct with them.. Big thanks to Neal and Joyce! Karen and Anita
Hi Karen and Anita! The pleasure is ours. We are so happy that you enjoyed your tour. It was so nice to meet and chat with you. We look forward to taking you on another adventure on your next trip to Vegas! Joyce
Couldn’t imagine a better way to get away from the hustle and bustle of Vegas. Our guide, Holmes, made us feel like VIP guests for the whole trip. His knowledge of the history, geology and wildlife of the area was incredible and his genuine love for the outdoors and nature was obvious. We had a fabulous time and highly recommend Desert Adventures.
Thank you so much for your review! We're so glad you enjoyed the trip and we hope you come back again soon!
This was a stellar kayaking tour. Our guide was Holmes, and he was very patient with those of us (like me!) who had minimal kayaking skills. He also provided very interesting and detailed commentary on the surrounding wildlife and topography. He was even kind enough to take our photos as we were exiting Emerald Cove and send them to us. I would definitely book another tour with Desert Adventures the next time I visit Las Vegas.
Hello and thank you for the review! Our Lake Mead kayaking tour is so fun we are so happy that you had an amazing adventure with Holmes. Please come see us again soon!
Had an awesome time with Holmes. Always nice to get off the Strip. Hubs was reminded last minute about the Lake Mead area by social media (it's like our phones are listening! LOL) and we were pleasantly surprised to find that we were able to book just a couple of days ahead of time. We practically had a private tour -- just one other gal. Even though I managed to fall and scrape myself up before even getting into the kayak, we had a great day. Part of me wished that we were there a little later to try to see the Emerald Cove when it's more lit up, and the other part of me was happy that we didn't have to wait in line. There's plenty of glimmering green along the edges of the river and I think Holmes was right that the little cave might get the online attention, but there's a lot more to see. I might have to do some more arm workouts to do the full-day trip from the Dam, but it sounds fun and I was impressed by how prepared our guide was -- with snacks, first aid, and a sat phone -- I can only imagine the gear they bring on a multi-day adventure. And, he gave us a great rec to stop in Boulder City to see the big horn sheep that just cruise at the park and have lunch at Cornish Pasty.
Thank you for your review! Yes, Black Canyon has so many other special gems besides Emerald cave! Maybe if you come back, you could do an overnight trip and break up the full day of paddling? Either way, we hope to see you again soon!
