Ella Tea Making Experience Tour With Tasting & Snacks

We had such an amazing tea making tour and tasting with Apoorwa! She gave us so much information about Sri Lankan tea and took us through each tea, how it’s made and then we got to taste all of them with delicious treats. Thank you so much Apoorwa for a great experience!

The best experience, authentic tea farm. It was nice to see the entire process start to finish, and actually drink at the end your picked product. Lots of delicious food, 6 or 7 types of tea including white tea which was a first.

Local, family run. Very informative, friendly and fun. A lovely experience. Would recommend to any couple, family or solo traveller. The Sri Lankan snacks were a great bonus.

Very nice tour and we had a lot of fun harvesting and making our own tea in the workshop. Fazil was really nice and teached us all about tea and the process of making it. Definitely worth a visit!

Brilliant tour taking you on whole journey of tea making from picking, drying, fermenting, making and tasting. It is a excellent explanation of tea, my favourite drink.

3 experiences in 1 - picking, production and tasting, which was great value for money. The man running the tasting was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We also had a tray of snacks in the tasting and a free gift of black tea to takeaway. Lost a star as we started and ended 20/30mins late, and went to the wrong address as it wasn’t listed clearly on the app.

Nice little tea plantation, where you get a nice explanation about tea: black, white or green. You can also pick yourself in the field. Afterwards tasting of various teas together with tasty sweets!

Amazing tea tasting experience at Organic Queen Tea, Ella. We had a truly wonderful tea tasting hosted by the delightful Fazil Lee, who made the whole experience feel special, engaging, and memorable. Even as someone who isn’t normally a tea drinker, I absolutely loved it and was surprised by how much I enjoyed the teas. The tasting was paired with delicious snacks, which complemented the teas perfectly, and we learned so much about tea — from how it’s grown to how different varieties are produced. I especially loved the “champagne of the tea world”, the White Tip — exceptional. We wished we’d had time to do the full tour, as the surroundings are beautiful and there’s amazing wildlife in the area as well. A big thank you to Fazil Lee and all the staff for such a warm welcome and a memorable tea tasting experience. Highly recommended.
