great, tasty and enlightening tour

very educational, fun and comprehensive tour, great value for the money. We loved how knowledgeable our guide Jose was about the history of coffee and Costa Rica and the current state of affairs. It changed the way I will consume coffee in the future knowing the nuances and benefits of light and medium roast, the different regions and what affects taste. Beautiful vistas as well!

There were only two of us. Great tour, everything was explained in detail. At the end, we made a tortilla and were allowed to taste the different coffees.

Superb Coffee Tour

Great experience. You can tell they really care about their product and they are not doing this for the money. Other tours we looked at advertised a tour with coffee, chocolate, and sugar cane in ~1.5 hours. We spent more than 2 hours with our guide, Ed, just learning about the coffee process and trying different roasts and processes. I would highly recommend this tour and Ed as a guide to anyone looking for a coffee tour in the Monteverde area

Operator response

Thank you so much for your kind words! We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your experience with us. Our goal is to provide an authentic and educational coffee tour where guests can truly connect with the coffee-making process, and we're glad that came across during your visit. Ed is passionate about sharing his knowledge, and we will be sure to pass along your compliments to him. Thank you for recommending our tour to future visitors. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we hope to welcome you back to Monteverde someday for another cup of coffee!

The coffee from the plant to the cup

Visit to a coffee producer with all the steps of producing 100% arabica coffee, the must and the only coffee from Costa Rica. The plantations, the harvest, the drying, the different roasts, and tasting. Small group, we were 7, and explanations in Spanish or English. During the visit, we taste a cane juice that we press. Plan for about 2 hours.

Operator response

Thank you so much for your visit and for sharing your experience! ☕🌱 We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed learning about all the stages of coffee production, as well as tasting the freshly pressed sugar cane juice. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we hope to welcome you again soon in Costa Rica for another coffee adventure!

Local family owned coffee farm!

Such a great tour of this family owned coffee farm! The tour was super informative with a number of tastings and little snacks. The owner, Freddy, is such a kind soul. He seems to know everyone in town & stopped to help some lost tourist. On our way back to our hotel he took us to see a beautiful overlook, Cerro Pinocho! Book this coffee tour and support these amazing locals!

Great expérience

We had a fantastic time at the El Pueblo Coffee Tour. The experience was both educational and fun, and the guides were incredibly passionate about coffee and Costa Rican culture. They explained the entire process clearly, from the coffee plant all the way to roasting and tasting. What made the tour special was how interactive it was. We could see, smell, and taste each step of the process, which made it much more engaging than a typical tour. The coffee tasting at the end was excellent, and we learned how to recognize the different aromas and flavors. The setting is beautiful and very authentic, surrounded by nature and with a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly proud of what they do. If you are visiting the Monteverde area, this tour is absolutely worth doing. A great way to understand Costa Rican coffee culture and enjoy some truly delicious coffee.

Must do !

I would highly recommend this tour. Our guide Danial was great at explaining all the steps of coffee production. He was funny and informative. I left with a greater appreciation of coffee and the process to grow and harvest the beans. I will definitely be able to use what I learned when I am purchasing coffee in Canada. The icing on the cake was the coffee tasting at the end and the traditional taco and banana bread. Delicious.

Operator response

Thank you so much for your recommendation! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tour and that Danial made it both fun and informative. It’s wonderful to know you left with a greater appreciation for coffee — and that you’ll use what you learned back in Canada! We’re also glad you loved the tasting, traditional taco, and banana bread. We hope to see you again soon!

Best coffee tour

It was a great experience. We only registered in the morning for the tour in the afternoon, all without any problems. We have learned a lot about coffee, cultivation, processing and consumption. With a lot of humor and entertainment we were even allowed to taste sugar cane, homemade cake and lots of coffee. Thank you very much

Operator response

The coffee tour was really good. It was interesting learning about where coffee comes from and the coffees were really good. Extra points for the little taco and the banana bread. The woman that drove us home was so nice she took us to an amazing viewpoint in Monteverde.
