The ONLY Ghost Town tour you can book in Las Vegas! Thanks to LV Tours and Christian for having this trip available. Start to finish, it was an excellent day. Very gracious with bottles of water and snacks for our trip in the hot summer sun. El Dorado is some great American history in the old West. Plenty of things to learn from the 19th C gold rush. Family who owns the 'Town' are very nice and involved with the property keeping it's history alive. Highly recommended 👌
We had a brilliant time on our tour with LV Tours. Christian met us on time and provided plenty of water and snacks for the very comfortable journey to El Dorado Canyon. We were greeted there by Bruce, who is hilarious, and was expecting us as part of LV tours so there was no having to sort out any further payments etc. Bruce took us as part of a small group round the mine and was so knowledgeable about the area and history, as well as very entertaining. After this, we met back with Christian who took us back to Las Vegas offering snacks and water again. He was happy to stop so we could take a few photos of the desert scenery too and also gave us some great local knowledge of places for dinner and great shows to see. Overall a great few hours. Well worth it!
The entire experience was great. Christian from LV tours was at our pick up location early. He had plenty of cold water and snacks available. He was engaging, friendly, and knowledgeable about the region. He even gave us a great dinner recommendation. Upon arrival we went into the main building and met with our tour guide, Bruce. He invited us to take a walk around the property and take in the unique buildings and vehicles on display. We took a lot of pictures and made our way back to start the tour. We started inside the main building. Bruce explained the history of gold and silver mining in Nevada as well as the Techatticup Mine. We historic saw maps and pictures of the mine. He explained the entire mining process in great detail. He took the time to answer any questions we had about the mine and mining process. Due to the high temperature that day, Bruce and Christian recommended we take the short drive to the mine entrance rather than walking in the heat. The mine was incredible. We welcomed the cooler air and breeze inside the mine. Other than some lightning and safety upgrades for visitors, the mine was for the most part, was incredible the same condition that the miners left it. Bruce explained in detail how the gold and silver is developed, the clues that lead the miners to locate the gold and silver, as well as the process to drill, find, recover, and process the raw materials into gold and silver bars. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour! It was a welcomed escape from the hustle and bustle of the Las Vegas strip! I highly recommend this tour. Thanks to Bruce and the crew, and Christian from LV Tours!
The entire experience was awesome. Christian from LV tours arrived early at the pick up location. He had plenty of cold water and snacks for us. He was polite and knowledgeable about Las Vegas and the surrounding areas. He even gave us a great dinner recommendation. When we arrived at El Dorado Canyon we knew we were going to experience a one of a kind tour. There were many unique buildings and antique vehicles on display. We went inside the main building and met our tour guide, Bruce. He told a little about the facility and told us we can check out whatever we like for the 15-20 minutes before the start of the tour. We were able to explore and take many pictures of the buildings and vehicles. We returned to the main building to start our tour. We were fortunate that the other tour group did not arrive. Bruce gladly gave us an incredible tour just for us. It started inside the main building. He explained history of gold and silver mining in Nevada, how El Dorado Canyon was started, and the process of searching for, finding, retrieving, and processing gold and silver to be processed in brick forms. He was very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and entertaining. The mine itself was amazing. It was updated to the point it was safe and well lit for the tour. Beyond the tour area it remains as it was left by the miners. We are so pleased with our decision to take some time away from the Las Vegas strip and experience El Dorado Canyon. Many thanks to Bruce and crew of the “Techatticup Mine.” Booking this tour through LV Tours with Christian was a great decision!
It's a bit of a drive away from the stip but well worth it. Our tour guide is hilarious. I forgot his name but he's the son in law of the owner. It was very cool and cool (temperature wise) walking around the mines. Lots of nice photo ops in the little area outside too. While I was there, I saw a couple dressed up in wedding attire. I think they were having a photo shoot. Mine tours are at 9am, 12pm and 2pm, WHEN THEY HAVE 4 OR MORE ADULTS AND A RESERVATION. We called at 8am when they opened, they didn't have anyone reserved for 9 or 12, so we made a reservation for 2. Reservations can be made by calling 702-291-0026. It is $20.00 for adults (13 and older) and $12.50 for kids 5-12 (kids under 5 free). When we arrived at 2pm there was a good sized group, about 19 people!
The tour was perfect., It was four hours. the operator owner, Christian was extremely pleasant and flexible by adding a stop along the way. The ghost town and mine were informative and fun. Awesome views, budget friendly trip, would recommend.
We had an absolutely incredible time on our El Dorado Canyon tour! From start to finish, this experience was nothing short of spectacular. The scenery was stunning and the historic mining ruins that made every stop feel like a postcard come to life. Christian was friendly and our mining tour guide full of fun stories that brought the area’s history to life. They made sure everyone felt comfortable and included, answered questions with enthusiasm, and even pointed out hidden gems that we would’ve totally missed on our own. If you’re into history and nature looking for a memorable adventure close to Las Vegas, this tour delivers. I highly recommend this tour if you want a perfect mix of adventure, beauty, and local insight.
This tour was absolutely perfect! My friend and I went on the El Dorado Canyon tour and had an amazing time. The tour guide was fantastic — super knowledgeable, friendly, and even provided us with snacks and drinks. The scenery was breathtaking, and everything was well organized from start to finish. Definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area!
