Museo Egizio [Egyptian Museum] with a museum staff guide for 90 minutes is the best way to get immersed in Ancient Egypt that I have experienced. After the 90 minute tour I felt I understood from the expert guide the fundamentals to underpin my own explorations of Museo Egizio, which is large, for a subsequent 2 hours. I have visited the Louvre, the Metropolitan Museum in Manhattan, the British Museum, the Pergamon, the Vatican Museums, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and the Chicago Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures. Those museums have a range of excellent exhibits , but have not conveyed as much understanding as the guided tour at Museo Egizio. Museo Egizio has outstandingly wonderful depth in the exhibits and the guide was so expert that the explanations were simple, with clear chronology and relatable, human stories. 3pm on 27 June. Museo Egizio is focussed on providing depth, with context, on their discoveries of Ancient Egyptian burial practises, and the stories behind the exhibits.
Spectacular, the talented guide was able to create a fantastic experience that transported you over time
Grazie grazie! Luisa
Beautiful recommend it with the guide explaining what you see. The guide very prepared and available to explain what you see accurately. HE DESERVES
Worth half a day. Not as good as the one in Cairo, obviously; but well-laid out and carefully and thoughtfully displayed. Some of the science used to explore eg mummies is very up to date and revalatory. GUIDE NOT NEEDED Some renovation in progress, so the route is not as logical as might be. Visitors with kids should be a bit cautious eg mummified cats! Cafe ok, but lady might smile.
Dear Madam, You are commenting on a tour that you did not take, as I have never had the pleasure of having you as a customer and on sept 16 I was working at the Royal Palace of Turin. Please delete this review, which damages my professional reputation, and—if you wish—post it on the profile of the museum or whoever gave you the tour.
Well built museum, rich in room and explanation. The Audio Guide is free and can be downloaded on the phone. It has two types of visits: quick (with essential points to listen to) and comprehensive (with all explanations). There is a very nice interactive part, 2 or 3 more would be really great to take breaks in the tour which can still be a bit long. I made the museum with two kids, 11 and 12, they loved it!
Merci beaucoup pour votre gentil commentaire, même si vous n'avez pas participé à ma visite guidée mais avez visité le musée par vous-même. Luisa
Our Guide, Luisa, led us along the path of the millennia, making us appreciate this beautiful museum, with an in-depth knowledge of the themes and adapting the visit also for our children.
Grazie. Anche voi siete stati veramente appassionati, ed i bambini molto interessati: un piacere avere compagni di viaggio come voi.
Unforgettable and moving experience, thanks to the new exhibition of the huge amount of finds but above all to the guide Federica: professionalism and great passion.
