Kom Ombo Temple – A Unique Double Temple on the Nile Discover one of Egypt’s most fascinating and unusual temples at Kom Ombo, dramatically set on a bend of the Nile River. Unlike any other temple in Egypt, Kom Ombo is a double temple, perfectly symmetrical and dedicated to two powerful gods: Sobek, the crocodile god of strength and fertility, and Horus the Elder, the god of protection and kingship. As you explore the temple, you’ll walk through twin entrances, halls, and sanctuaries, each side telling a different story through beautifully carved reliefs. The walls reveal scenes of ancient rituals, medical instruments, and daily life, offering rare insight into the science, beliefs, and creativity of ancient Egypt.
After completing your visit to Kom Ombo Temple, we will continue our journey south toward Aswan.
