Description

Explore the volcanic landscapes of northern Costa Rica on a full-day tour to Rincón de la Vieja National Park, just outside Liberia. This guided experience follows the Las Pailas trail, where you will see bubbling mud pools, steaming vents, and sulfur springs shaped by the active Rincón de la Vieja Volcano. After the hike, continue to Oropéndola Waterfall, set within a narrow canyon and surrounded by tropical forest. There will be time to enjoy the scenery and take in one of the park’s most striking natural features. Wildlife is often spotted along the way, including howler monkeys, capuchins, coatis, iguanas, and a variety of tropical birds. The day ends in Liberia with a traditional Costa Rican lunch prepared with fresh local ingredients, before returning to your hotel.

Great experience!!!

Alex was our driver and Ed was our guide. Alex got us to our destinations quickly and safely and Ed did an amazing job guiding us through the forest and waterfall. Lunch was great too. No complaints about this adventure. Definitely was something to remember.

What an awesome day!

We were picked up at expected time from our Westin hotel in Guanacaste. We were greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable tour guide, Jorge and driver, Bolivar. The van was clean, and we traveled safely. We then trekked about an hour to Rincon de la Vieja volcano tour which included about a 2 mile hike complete with fabulous views of wildlife and flora. Our guide gave beautiful descriptions of the sights. Jorge also used his scope to provide us closer views of the animals in action. We also saw geothermal springs and bubbling mud pots. We then drove over to Llanos de Cortes waterfall which was breathtaking. Afterwards, we met a local coffee producer who gave us an informative presentation and gifts. Then we had a fabulous authentic Costa Rican lunch at Cafe Manzu. The staff was super friendly, and the restaurant practiced social distancing and COVID protocols. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone visiting Guanacaste.
