Small group tours by a local is the BEST! Maria was wonderful & gave us a unique perspective of Dubrovnik --its history and current living. She was authentic & this was not a canned tour. We really enjoyed the genuine experience! The city is SO beautiful!
Tour led by Marco - there were just 2 of us on the tour which took us to some off the beaten track areas of Dubrovnik old town. Marco was interesting and informative and the 2 hour tour seemed to go by very quickly.
Excellent. Mario was amazing. He gave a lot of information during the course of the tour. He made it very interesting. He gave excellent suggestions for places to eat and other sites to visit.
Marko was one of the best walking tour guides ever He was very knowledgeable, informative and entertaining Overall a great tour with many historic insights into Dubrovnik
Our tour guide walked us through the walled city of Dubrovnik and was knowledgeable about its history. However it would have been more interesting if he shared more than historical facts, perhaps adding some interesting anecdotes of historical nature. While there were many sites visited, the full itinerary was not included.
Dear Caron, Thank you for sharing your feedback on our Old Town tour. Our guides take great pride in showing our hometown to our guests and sharing the rich history. We strongly believe that our guide Bruno delivered the tour to the highest standards, but we accept that not everything mentioned on the itinerary was covered. This is first and foremost the guide's personal decision, to adapt the pace, narrative and route to the group. The itinerary mentioned on our listing is merely informative, and certainly not set in stone. It is our guide's decision on what to show and which stories to share. We're sorry that this time we didn't quite live up to your expectations, and we hope we will be able to have a chance to welcome you again on one of our tours, that you will hopefully enjoy more. That being said, we adamantly insist that you could gain a very good understanding of Dubrovnik's history and see the main sights, which is exactly what we aim to provide on our small group tours. Thank you again and kind regards, Marko Dubrovnik Local Guides
Marko the guide hosted this tour and what a guide! Informative, friendly, funny. Ticked all our boxes for a tour guide. Well worth the cost. Observing the other Dubrovnik tours, trawling a sprawling crowd wearing headsets, trying to keep up with their guide in a busy city, highlighted to us the real value of a small group tour. Thanks Marko, we thoroughly enjoyed your passion and enthusiasm. An enjoyable and memorable experience.
Thank you, Jon! We couldn't have said it better ourselves! It is exactly that contrast—seeing the difference between the big tour groups and a personal, conversational experience of our small-group tours—that makes us happy that we do our tours in a more relaxed way. We’re grateful that you chose to join us for a more meaningful walk through the city, led by a local like Marko. Thank you for recognizing the value in the small-group approach; it was truly our pleasure to have you on our Old town tour! Warm regards, Maria Dubrovnik Local Guides
Marko was an awesome tour guide. He is very knowledgeable and kept us engaged the entire tour. He walked us around Old Town and pointed out all the different sights and gave us a brief history of Dubrovnik at each stop. I highly recommend this tour.
Thank you, Joanne! We are so pleased to hear that Marko kept you fully engaged while walking you through the sights of the Old Town. Providing that perfect balance of historical context at each stop is exactly what we aim for to make the city’s story easy to follow and enjoy. We truly appreciate the recommendation! Warm regards, Maria Dubrovnik Local Guides
Guide Maria was excellent and showed her home city with pride and clear affection which brought the information to life. She was hugely knowledgable. Her tour was varied, well-paced, she clearly adapted to her group of mixed ages and was able to talk widely around topics of interest. Recommended.
Thank you so much! The pride and affection for Dubrovnik is exactly what we hope every guest experiences. We’re thrilled that Maria was able to adapt her pace and topics to keep the group engaged—she has a fantastic ability to tailor the conversation so that everyone gets exactly what they’re looking for! Thanks again for joining our small-group tour of the Old Town! Warm regards, Marko Dubrovnik Local Guides
Marija had so much knowledge to share! We learned the history and evolution of Dubrovnik over centuries as well as a first hand account of growing up in the 80sand 90s within the walls of the old town and through the Serb-Bosnian war. Great experience, learned a lot, helpful recommendations!
Thank you, Shannon! It is truly special when a local guide like Marija can bridge the gap between centuries-old history and the lived reality of the city's modern past. Those firsthand accounts of life during the 80s and 90s, especially through such a challenging period, offer a perspective that you simply cannot find in a guidebook, and we're glad that you enjoyed our Old Town tour with her! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! Kind regards, Marko Dubrovnik Local Guides
Great way to learn about Dubrovnik. Very knowledgeable guide. Me and my partner very much enjoyed it!
Thank you, Kaidi! We're happy that you had a good time on our Old Town tour. We hope to see you again on some of our tours in the future! Warm regards, Maria Dubrovnik Local Guides
