Great music let down by food and venue

Having been to Johnnie fox’s hoolie on my last trip wanted to give the family a similar experience but this is not it. Nice friendly servers but totally over worked and took over 25 minutes to get a drink - not much of a party! Food is well below average and slow service throughout as over worked. Having paid for the dinner before you might expect some priority seating but we ended up being the last ones in so stuck in the back of the theatre which smelled of mold and could not see the feet of the dancer which was a huge loss. The music was superb but over pretty quickly - find the way to get to a different place as you custom is not valued here. Some people even left rather than stay in the cramped seats with no where to put your drinks - when you can ever get one.

Show is a MUST, skip the meal

You want Trad music you can hear, dancing you can see at a good price, this is the place. Easy to access with a main bus route. nice neighbourhood. Great music and dance. Skip the dinner ticket, it was nothing special

Great Irish evening with incredibly talented artists.

We had a wonderful evening with delicious food, great musicians, and a talented dancer. It would be nice if the guests who eat here also received the best seats.

Disappointing experience at times

Disappointing at times. Very talented musicians that did not deliver the House Party performance!Expected lots of lively traditional tunes to get toes tapping. No wonder theatre was half full. Especially felt cheated when an Amy Winehouse song and Molly Malone was sung. I was concerned when the beautiful Gaelic song at the start was ruined by getting audience to sing what are we going to do with a drunken sailor!! The band which sadly did not even have a fiddle player 🥲involved audience with clapping but asked audience to sing the chorus of tunes two and in one case four times. At times a very Boring experience especially with the long chats.more jigs and reels needed to create a party!! Just not a party atmosphere Dancing was super but hard for one and two dancers to hold attention and create a party feel. More needed. Sadly Would not recommend better off going to a pub and listening to a real Irish party.

Operator response

Thank you for your feed back, even though 99% of our customers would disagree with your assessment. I'm glad you thought the performers were very talented as they are some of the best in Dublin and share funny and interesting stories with the audience in between performances. The Irish House Party is a fun interactive evening where everyone can get involved regardless of their ability.

If you do the diner...

If you do the diner before the show, you end up sitting in the back and can’t see the performers we all felt since we all pd more, we should have been seated first.
