Dresden Small Group Walking Tour

Description
Dresden, beautifully set at the river Elbe, is one of Germany’s most wonderful cities, with the famous porcelain-like, baroque architecture dominating its silhouette. Fittingly, the capital of Saxony hides a grandiose history of princes and kings, but also its fair share of tragedies. On our tour, we will present you with the history of the city and its current lively face. We will be sure to make you understand how the Germanic organization merged with Slavic hopeless romanticism to form one of a kind Central European fusion. Please note that booking this tour you will be joining our general pay as you wish tour (tour in which it is up to the guest how to reward his or her guide). In this case the amount you pay covers the reservation fee and the guide's payment. If you wish to join a smaller, private tour let us know and we will organise it for you!

James was the consummate guide, knowing his architecture and history. One of the best group walking tours I have ever taken
The group was too large. I didn’t choose to push to the front to hear what the guide was saying. We stayed far too long at seemingly lesser significant sites. A general walking tour of the city would have been better. Lots of requesting for a tip.
My family enjoyed this 2hr tour. The area was explained well by our guide Katia and we had the rest of the day to go on our own.
The tour was excellent. The guide was very knowledgeable. However, there was confusion as this was also a “pay what you wish” tour for everyone else (we were the only Viator guests). We resolved this with the guide, although I don’t believe this was disclosed to us when we booked the tour and the first time this occurred for us on Viator. Net result is that we ended paying 3-4 times what everyone else paid for this tour…….. Viator should be more transparent about this arrangement so that customers can make a more informed decision.
It was a nice experience of my life being in dresden and going for a tour all explanation by the tour guide were understood
Unlike some other small walking group leaders, this fellow was professional enough to have a yellow umbrella so he could be identified at the beginning when it's so difficult to find the group. He was well informed and courteous.
This tour is a great way to learn about the history of Dresden from the Middle Ages to today. Nicolas, our tour guide was fun and informative
Great tour with Nicola whose English was excellent. Very good levels of detail and pace. We covered a lot in just over 2 hours and highly recommended. Only critiscm is his political leanings shone through at times and a pretty unbalanced account of the Dresden Bombings but otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Nicola was a wonderful tour guide! He gave context and history throughout the tour and was very knowledgeable.
Our tour guide was excellent and provided a thorough picture of Dresden’s history, particularly as it related to the Saxony region and WW2. The walk was lovely with many beautiful sites to see! 10/10 would do it again.
