Itinerary
Meet with your tour guide in the morning.
Visit the Peles Castle, former summer residence of the kings of Romania, in Sinaia, a well-known mountain resort as well. Nowadays the Castle is one of the most important museums in Transylvania where one can admire furniture and ornamental objects, carpets, tapestry, sculptures, paintings, collections of weapons from the 15th up to the19th centuries.
Continue your journey to Bran with it’s famous Bran castle. Also called Dracula`s Castle, it is situated not far from Brasov (25 kilometres) at the entrance in the Bran – Rucar passage. The castle got its fame from Dracula`s legend written in 1897 by Bram Stoker and later on made into a film by Francis Ford Coppola.. The first documents about the Bran Castle appeared in 1377. Along the history, the Castle had a strategic mission being the border between Transylvania and Wallachia. First it was under the rule of the King of Hungary Sigismund of Luxemburg, than under the Romanian voievodes Mircea cel Batran and Vlad Tepes and later on it came under the jurisdiction of the City of Brasov. In 1912 it was donated by the municipality of Brasov to the romanian royal family, in order to became their residence.
Free time in Brasov. Dating from 1520, the City Council Square has been considered the centre of Brasov for hundreds of years. Merchants and craftmen fairs took place here. They came from Transylvania, Wallachia, and even the Near East andEurope. According to the types of merchandise they traded on the side streets of this Square, the streets were called The Wheat Fair, The Cloth Row, The Butnar Fair, The Linen Fair, The Cotton Row or The Coats Fair. The Square is surrounded by houses built in the Renaissance, Baroque, Provincial and Neo-classic style and they once sheltered small shops and warehouses. The Square is dominated by the magnificent building called the Council Hall.

I enjoyed this day very much. We had a full bus and a very good guide. I enjoyed visiting both castles. Our guide advised against comparisons, but I did favour Bran Castle. I loved Brasov, as a beautiful regional city. Travellers should be aware this is a long day. Both castles are inundated with visitors. Paul Schneider
This tour covers some of Roman’s most famous sites or the locations of themselves are interesting. The overall experience was disappointing due to the cost of value for money. The biggest issue was lack of transparency around additional entrance fees although £60 was paid upfront for transport via GetYourGuide entry to the castles were not included so we had an additional £100 to pay as it was £25 per person per Castle and I felt that this was very misleading Dracula Castle felt overrated and very tourist driven while it was historical interest they didn’t live up to the expectations Police castle on the other hand was a highlight of the trip beautiful well preserved and definitely were visiting. Their outside café only has one toilet so be prepared for a long queue. Old town was pleasant, but fairly standard When comparing the cost of other museums and attractions in Romania, this Tall fell overpriced and not value for money
Waited for a hour at the central pickup location. No pickup. Phone number Viator partner not in service. Chatted with Viator and asked for a refund
I found the experience really nice. Our guide Otilia spoke great Italian and was super prepared about everything! The driver Claudio was also very professional.
Viator failed to notify the tour guide that I was coming on the tour. I received no information from Viator as to the name of the tour guide. I showed up at the meeting place and neither tour guide had my name on their list. One of them added me after I showed them my purchase and ticket.
Unfortunately despite being at the agreed location at 7.15am for boarding the bus it either left before the 7:30am departure time or simply didn’t turn up we are on a girls trip & were left stranded at the pick up point at that time of the morning in freezing January weather it is terrible customer service & quite traumatic after a delayed flight the day before we got up extra early to do this experience. My friend who made the booking has a time stamped uber confirmation of our arrival which was where other tour buses were parked ready to leave with their groups so there can be no discrepancy on us being at the wrong location! We received NO information, couldn’t get hold of anyone via phone either. Was absolutely ridiculous! Ruined the beginning of our trip we are now having to plead for a refund & haven’t even received an apology! I would advise using a different company personally. What a shame!
Turned up early and the bus left early… waited around no Communication. No information shared. We were on time! Can evidence with my uber receipt. We were left stranded in the city centre at 7.15am.
Painful. Disorganized from the start. Went to a rest stop that will forever give me trauma it was such a mess. Went to peles- outside was still under construction. We were told even with a ticket it was a two hour wait. We did t go in. Information along the way was contradictory and also left out a whole bunch. It was a long day. Draculas castle was ok. Drive back was painful it was so long. Never ending. What they don’t tell you is traffic on the way back is bad. We got in at 10:00 and one group was behind- didn’t get back u til after 11:00. Not worth it. Might want to share more Information on the site or tighten up and stagger which place you go to so not everyone is there at the same time
excellent excursion all day, for the well-structured program, chosen places, timing organization and especially for the very professional, helpful, nice accompanying Guide, Mr. Vlad... yes just so...;-)
Beautiful day, well organized, I hope you can all find the Vlad Guide who is kind helpful and prepared....
