Dolphin Watching from Lagos with Marine Biologists
Description
Depart from Lagos Marina with our experienced crew and marine biologists on board, and receive a short safety briefing before heading into the Atlantic Ocean in search of dolphins. Travel aboard a fast and comfortable rigid inflatable boat (RIB) in a small group of no more than 18 guests, allowing for a more personal and exciting wildlife experience. Guided by our knowledgeable crew and marine biologists, you’ll explore the Algarve coast in search of cetaceans such as the Common Dolphin (Delphinus delphis), Bottlenose Dolphin (Tursiops truncatus), and other marine wildlife that frequently inhabit these waters. Along the way, our team shares fascinating insights about dolphin behavior, marine ecology, and conservation. As these are wild animals in their natural environment, sightings cannot be guaranteed. However, dolphin encounters occur on the vast majority of our trips, with an average success rate of around 97%.

Wonderful experience we saw dolphins and a Minke whale. Very professional and friendly company with a good speed boat.
We had such a good time seeing these graceful creatures and with guides who are so passionate about the animals and marine health. Guide Isa was so knowledgeable And captain Bruno was so friendly.
Very knowledgeable staff, we saw a full pod of dolphins and you could tell the staff had a genuine passion for these creatures.

The guide and the boat trip itself was very nice. On the other hand, we ended up only seeing a few birds during the ride. Even though we understand very well that they cannot control where the animals are, it feels sad to have missed the experience.

An My dolphin watching tour with Blue Fleet was one of the highlights of my trip to Lagos. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this was more than just a sightseeing excursion, it was an educational and respectful experience centered around understanding these incredible animals. The tour began with a briefing before boarding the boat, where we learned about the different dolphin species in the region, the approach to responsible dolphin watching, and what to expect once we were out on the water. Once we left the dock and headed out to sea, the experience exceeded all expectations. We were fortunate enough to see two different species of dolphins, which was absolutely incredible. What made the tour so special was the expertise and passion of our marine biologist, Isa, and Captain Johny. Their knowledge of dolphin behavior, conservation, and tracking techniques was fascinating, and you could truly feel how much they love what they do. Great tour with wonderful staff. We got close to a pod of dolphins and spent time watching them playing by our boat. So much fun.
