We took this tour as a group of 3 in March. Russell was an amazing guide and had so much knowkedge of the Island , its history, infrastcucture, ecology and wild life. It was so enjoyable and interesting. Highly recommended.
Thank you very much. Do reach out to us when you make your next trip. It will be wonderful to catch up.
A good 4-hr spent on Divar Island with local expert Russell Cardozo took us to what would have been scenic walks but we drove in a small car because a member of our group could not walk long. We drove past mangroves and villages, received insights into Goan heritage and culture, birds and wildlife sightings, plus local stories and warm hospitality from Russell. A must-do for travellers who care for culture and nature for two reasons: First, if you like especially, traditional water management systems and birds, and second, Russell Cardozo is resident of the Divar Island and a Homi Bhabha Fellow, whose commitment to protecting fast eroding living heritage, ecology and community history makes this Divar Island experience truly insight- and meaningful. Finally, a tip from Russell is to experience Divar Island best on foot or by bicycle, at a pace that lets its nature, people and history reach you for you to be able to go in nooks and corners and stop wherever you want (but on the safe side).
Thank you for remembering and sharing your thoughts about the experience. It was truly fun for us as well. See you soon!
