The busiest place on earth

For context we're fortunate to have done Florida & Paris multiple times and there is no denying it, this place IS magic: the atmosphere, attention to detail, staff (although they're not as good as Florida), big rides (Guardians of the Galaxy, Tiana, Rise of the Resistance, Toy Story...). But aside from being expensive it's crazily busy. Queues for the big rides were in excess of 90 minutes for the majority of our stay and most of those also spent time broken down at some point (Tiana staff claimed this was due to somebody attempting to get off mid-ride, I struggle to believe that requires a full evacuation and closure of the ride). Some other observations: the photopass isn't worth it (it's also not worth it in Paris, as of 2023 it was 100% worth it in Florida - loads of photographers floating around), the parks are quieter in the morning but there are still people streaming in all through the afternoon & evening, the queues for the food are better than in Florida & Paris, the app is rubbish, if you've done Florida or Paris you've pretty much done it all already (with a bigger castle), a lot of the new rides are rebadged versions of old rides, a lot of the rides are polished fairground rides or just terrible (Roger Rabbit - 60 minute queue for a terrible average ride). We'll be trying Universal next time.

Never again CA!

Never again! I will never return. First time is the last time. Cast members were beyond rude...they were openly hostile (to me and other guests). We were there for 6 days, every day, I was really offended by how my family was treated. I will not go back....EVER. If you want to have a pleasant experience where you don't feel like you are being shouted at by prison wardens--blessed Day, Aunt Lydia! , go to Disney World.

Happy 90th Birthday

My 89 year old mother-in-law wanted to celebrate her birthday at Disneyland. Our entire family joined her. She stayed across the street. Reserved a scooter to enjoy the park. Our teenagers got the multilane pass. We enjoyed ourselves. One special experience was our meal at Cafe Orleans in New Orleans Square. It was full but we got our tickets and made reservations. It is still a magical place. The parade at 8:45pm was soooo good. And fireworks were awesome. It never gets old. If you are not pressed June week one is the last inexpensive week. Do everything online before and after Hopper is a great option too. Oh, and if you are a turkey person, get that baked Turkey wing!!!!

Love Disneyland...just need to go at a time where it's less crowded...if that exists?

We went to Disneyland for our honeymoon 43 years ago...hadn't been back since. We decided to revisit the park for our 43 anniversary. It is still magical. We went the 18th of May, which on the web site said it was a slow time...it really wasn't. There were lots of high school seniors and college graduates in the park...adults & teens definately outnumbered children. Being Disney's 70 anniversary, they offered special pricing for the California locals, which ended that week, so I'm asuming that also added to the crowds? We purchased the lightening lane pass, and glad we did! We felt like it was worth the extra expence as we spend a LOT less time waiting in lines. We arrived at rope drop and hit the ground running...as fast as you can run when you're 64. We got in a lot of rides via lightening lane pass first thing in the morning. We stayed almost all day (did have to walk back to our hotel in the afternoon for a quick nap...we're old). We basically walked 15 miles that day in the park. We rode most all the rides we wanted. Saw several of the night time light shows (the light parade was AMAZING!). Sampled lots of fun foods and drinks. We will definatly be back, probably with our grandkids next time! I'm an "old" Disney adult, so love the magic.

Terrible experience for autistic children at Guest Relations

Today is my son Miguel's 12th birthday. He is on the autism spectrum. We lost our entire morning stuck in an extremely slow queue at City Hall (Guest Relations) just to activate the DAS because there were only 3 attendants working. This total lack of staff and efficiency completely ruined the morning of an autistic child's birthday. The park is unprepared to handle disability services efficiently at the gates. Very disappointed.
