Took my 4 kids and nephew for the Discovery Dive experience, as I'm certified but they aren't, and they all had a blast. The Mala Wharf location is super-cool, right off the shore (no boat needed); we saw a monk seal, eagle rays, white tip reef sharks, lots of turles and fish. Dave and Sean were our instructor/guides, they were attentive and took good care of the group. Great value and a home run for new comers looking to try out scuba diving.

Matt was great; very detailed instruction that put us newbies at ease and made sure we focused on having fun. We saw an entire ecosystem of turtles, eels, uncountable species of fish, and more off the Lahaina pier. Such a blast!

It was mine and my husband’s first time diving and it was an amazing experience! Sean was an awesome scuba instructor. He made us feel safe, comfortable, and excited throughout the entire experience. We had an incredible time and saw so many amazing things underwater. We highly recommend Dive Maui and Sean to anyone looking for an awesome dive experience!

Matt did a great job teaching us the skills needed for our dive. Our shore dive was at the Mala Pier. There were a ton of fish and turtles. We saw an eel and 4 sharks and had a fabulous time. We highly recommend Maui Dive!

Our family of four with 2 teens booked the discover scuba dive. Caitlin was our instructor. She did a great job in the classroom setting. Once we were in the water she took her time getting each one down to 10ft and finishing the skills practice before continuing on. I had a bit of a panic attack going down to 10 ft. It was a claustrophobic thing for me. Between the weight of the pack and being underwater, I decided it wasn’t for me. Caitlin did a great job of trying to make me feel comfortable and ultimately making me feel good about my decision to go back to shore. My family continued on with her and had a wonderful dive. They saw some white tip reef sharks, turtles, eel, and lots of fish. My husband is an experienced diver and he said it was a challenging dive for our girls and they handled it like pros with Caitlin leading the way.

This is clearly a no-nonsense lesson with a beautiful experience on scuba diving. Matt was very professional explaining and ensuring every step of the way that we were safe and we knew what we were doing. The dive was beyond amazing. Sharks, turtles, thousands of fish, and beautiful colors. Could not get enough. It was hard and it was challenging and it was just perfect. Matt insured that we were safe, respecting the environment around us, witnessing the amazing world underwater. I cannot recommend this enough. It is worth every penny!!

Fantastic experience! Took my 15 & 18 year old daughters on a discovery dive. Caitlin was great and made sure everyone had a wonderful time.

Matt was an amazing instructor and I had such a great time as a first-time diver with no experience. We saw tons of wildlife at the Mala Wharf and it was definitely worth it. Highly recommend!

I’ve never been scuba diving before and I did the discover scuba from shore lesson with instructor Matt. Matt is a great instructor, he prepares you well for what you’re about to experience and trains you very clearly on the devices you’re using for scuba diving, removing and finding your regulator, the correct and incorrect times to inflate/deflate your vest, important breathing tips for being underwater. It was an unreal experience, we saw white reef sharks (they’re safe), turtles, sting rays, so many different kinds of fish and coral reef. The location was amazing and the sight seeing was beautiful. If I were to go again I would come here. However I do have one tip for improvement, before we went into the water I was tightening my scuba mask (not the same as the regulator) and the strap kept snapping and coming off on one side. While I was under water, I’m not sure if it was because I was tightening it again but the strap snapped off and caused my scuba mask to come off and I had to hold it in place with my hands till Matt came over to strap it in again. I will say thankfully due to Matt’s awesome training I remembered the hand signal to call him over and he quickly came and fixed it for me so everything was fine. My tip would be to maybe expand scuba mask sizes so that even if someone is tightening it more it shouldn’t snap off. I’ll also be honest and say scuba diving is not for everyone, breathing compressed air from a regulator is a very strange feeling and can make one feel panicked or claustrophobic under water, so research what you’re getting yourself into, but having a good instructor like Matt makes it easier. Overall it was a great experience and if you’ve always wanted to scuba dive this would be the place to do it. 5 stars for Matt and this company.
