Discover Scotland Off the Beaten Track

Description
We will go to the place called Loup of Fintry, which is one of the most spectacular waterfalls of the lowlands of Scotland. It is a place not very well known to public, it is not a tourist visited place, some locals might know it, but is definitely a hidden gem of Scotland. The route to this place takes you through some amazing countryside scenery that is really showing the true Scottish feeling of untouched nature in its raw beauty. Once we find the path to the waterfall, we'll go on a short hike on the meadows (might even be greeted by some friendly horses), until we start hearing the roaring sound of the water gushing down the cliffs. It is a spectacular sight even from far. upon arrival to the place, we'll go on an adventure, climbing down and discovering some of the hidden areas of the waterfall, so we can take a closer look and snap some story telling photos that we can show later on to our friends and family.

The Fintry waterfall was an amazing sight. The trail was wet and slippery because it was raining and windy when we went. Ferenc the guide and the owner was very helpful in helping us maneuver the hike. He also took the photos in the safe and nice spots. The only negative thing was his driving. Because he had another tour scheduled after ours, he was speeding and cutting in and out of the traffic which made us feel unsafe. There were a couple of near misses of an accident. That can be improved.
We regret that you were surprised by the road conditions, but this is a direct consequence of not reading the tour description thoroughly before booking. Our tours take place in the Scottish forest roads, where narrow, winding forest and mountain roads are the standard — not wide American-style highways. These roads are clearly characteristic of the region and are explicitly part of the experience. The fact that vehicles occasionally need to pull over to let oncoming traffic pass, sometimes with limited space, is completely normal in Scotland and does not constitute a safety issue. This is how local roads are, especially on routes through forests, mountains, and valleys. There are no alternative wide roads for these tours, nor would they make sense for the destinations we visit. Weather in Scotland is unpredictable and cannot be controlled by us. Rain is very common here and is a natural part of the experience — not a catastrophe. This is an outdoor adventure tour in rugged Scottish nature, not a comfortable city sightseeing trip. We strongly advise anyone who is not comfortable with narrow roads, active driving conditions, or variable weather to book a city-based tour instead. Guests who are unfamiliar with or unwilling to accept these typical Scottish conditions should not book this type of tour. We stand by our tour descriptions and expect customers to read them carefully in advance. This helps ensure realistic expectations and the right fit for everyone involved.
Outstanding tour guide, beautiful views, and information about Scotland on the way! What more could you want!!!
Truly a peaceful and calm experience. The waterfall is lovely and has interesting rock formations. Enjoy!
Totally AWESOME!! Our guide/driver was entertaining, gave personal experience of leaving in area with grandfather and history. The country scenery is just breathtaking!! The guide explained each level of walking/climbing to the falls, especially behind the waterfall. Recommend walking shoes/boots, towel if you want to go in the ponds/falls. A little challenge for me personally with the path, rocks and pathway originally sheep path.
Our tour operator was fabulous!! Ferenc knew the trail and just how to maneuver over some difficult terrain. He made it fun and didn't push those who were not ready!! I would do this again!!
This experience exceeded my expectations. The guide was very knowledgeable, fun and so friendly. The whole experience was personalised, made me feel really happy, nothing like I’ve ever done before. Couldn’t recommend it enough.
We had the best time! The drive was pleasant and we drove though beautiful Scottish countryside scenery. The hike starts out going across some fields where we could see the waterfall in the distance. Ferenc pointed out heather and grouse during our trail. The hike was fantastic, the views spectacular and the air was fresh and clean. Ferenc's expertise was appreciated as he guided us down the trail to the base of the waterfall. He checked things out by going ahead and then coming back and telling us what we would do to be most safe. He gave us step by step directions when climbing down part of the waterfall and I always felt safe, even though it seemed very challenging at times. Ferenc will take many amazing photos of you on this lovely adventure. It was by far the most fun and one of a kind experience I have had in the UK. I will definitely do this again and highly recommend Ferenc wherever her is available.
