Itinerary
Your Nile Holiday tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan and take you on a journey to the remarkable Kom Ombo Temple, dramatically set on high ground overlooking the Nile River. Unlike most ancient Egyptian temples, Kom Ombo is uniquely dedicated to two deities: the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Haroeris (Horus the Elder). The temple is distinguished by its rare dual design, featuring perfect symmetry along its main axis, reflecting its dual dedication. Construction of the existing structure began during the reign of Ptolemy VI Philometor (180–145 BC) and was later expanded by subsequent rulers, most notably Ptolemy XIII (47–44 BC), who added the inner and outer hypostyle halls. In ancient times, crocodiles once inhabited the riverbanks surrounding the temple. Today, visitors can explore the nearby Crocodile Museum, which displays a selection of the approximately 300 mummified crocodiles discovered at the site.
Continue your journey to the Temple of Horus in Edfu, widely regarded as the best-preserved cult temple in Egypt. Dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god, the temple is deeply rooted in ancient Egyptian mythology, where Horus avenged the murder of his father, Osiris, by defeating Seth. The present structure dates back to the Ptolemaic period (332–30 BC) and is remarkable as one of the few temples in Egypt that was fully completed in antiquity, offering an exceptional insight into classical temple design and religious life. After completing your visit, you will be comfortably transferred back to your hotel in Luxor or Aswan, according to your travel itinerary.

This was a great day! Our driver was on time and drove safely. The temples are fantastic and some of the easier ones to see independently without a guide.
Modern car. This formula from Aswan to Luxor allows to discover the local life of the people via the road. Good driver and on time. 1 hour visit to each temples Kom ombo and Edfu is enough.
Our driver Salah was the most genuine, kind and respectful gentleman we met during our trip. This is a great way to see two amazing sites enroute to Luxor from Aswan, however please note the company will say the cost of admission to the sites is not included even though it clearly states on your ticket. Maybe confirm this prior so on the day you are not paying again for what should already be covered. A common problem in Egypt so be careful to confirm all this at time of booking and keep the conversation for proof of reference. We are only rating this as 5 star due to Salah our driver
Good and clean car. Guides were knowledgable. Worked out just as planned. Would recommend. Light snacks and water was provided.
Really great guides met us at each location and shared some amazing insights to all the ruins. Learned a lot and the temples themselves were incredible to look and feel the history of this area. Highly recommend
Today we had Mahmud our guide who took us from Aswan to Kom Ombo then Edfu and at the end we were dropped off at Luxor which was a great help. Not only was this tour practical but it was lovely to have Mahmud our private guide explain to us the history of Kom Ombo & Edfu along the way. We had a great day & highly recommended this tour to everyone.
This tour allows you to visit not only wonderful monuments dating from the Ancient Egypt, but also to cross cities and villages between Aswan and Luxor of today Egypt. Often that's a scary experience given the absolute chaos of traffic and how drivers don't have any safety concerns. Regarding this our driver was quite good. I have to thank our guide Mahmoud Makky, always attentive and with a deep knowledge of History. Without a doubt, he was the best guide we had in Egypt.
If you do the trip from south to north this kind of trip is your go to and there is not much offer of this (apart from the cruisers) About the route: Kom Ombo is not as big as other temples but has the peculiarly that they worshiped 2 gods there. Edfu is more impressing mostly due to it's size. About the guide: We value his effort because spanish is not his natural language and he was nice. We would have liked to have more insights and interaction and also to have more time for free visit the temples after the explanation. About the driver: He was very polite, nice and a good driver. We are amazed that he woke up at 3:00 to pick us up at 7:00 and be home (luxor) at 15:00.

The tour guide was on time picking us up at 8 am, and the tour guide was very pleasant during each tour. Little bit of a long drive there and back to the hotel, but worth taking the drive to each location.
