My daughters and I made the most of our one day in Mumbai with a Dharavi slum tour led by Dhiraj and a city tour led by Shalmali. Shamshor was our reliable driver for the full day. The slum was fascinating to experience in person and Dhiraj explained the history behind it. Lunch was at an actual family’s home with a home cooked meal being a wonderful touch. The afternoon was a frenzied tour covering so many different sites from different periods of the city’s history. Shalmali did an excellent job of explaining it all. The day, while exhausting, was exactly what we needed.
