It was my dream to visit slums of Mumbai! Our tour guide, DHRUVESH MEWADA, was exceptional. Having grown up in Dharavi, he has deep personal connections within the community and knows many of the residents. His firsthand knowledge and the fascinating stories he shared brought the history and daily life of the slums to life. The tour was incredibly insightful, authentic, and informative.
Great tour - such a good expereince as a solo traveller in Mumbai. Hardik was an excellent guide, incredibly friendly and polite with lots of good recommendations...you hear a lot about certain parts of Mumbai through films or word of mouth but seeing it with your own eyes is the only way to get a glimpse of what it's really like... highly recommend to anyone who's curious. also if you go on a sunday you can play cricket in the streets :)
Fabulous tour. Guide was extremely helpful and informative.
I had an amazing experience. My Guide Nayan was so friendly and informative. The tour was really eye opening and really changed my perspective towards Dharavi... I recommend everyone to visit the place at least once
The experience offered a firsthand look at the resilience of its community, thriving cottage industries, and remarkable human spirit within one of Asia's largest urban settlements.

Our tour guide, Abi, was a spectacular, personable guide for our two-hour tour through his deep experiential knowledge of the place (as long time resident of it). Elsewhere, his perfect use of the English language enabled him to answer all of our questions in a way that was not only highly informative, but also ideally succinct and disarmingly direct. All-in-all a “real”, transformative experience for us, possibly our single, favorite moment of our whole 12-day, 4-city, first trip of India. Make sure to ask for him by name, thanks Abi!

We went on the Dharavi Slum Tour with Rakesh as our guide. It was intense, overwhelming, and inspiring all at once. Rakesh was wonderful - very knowledgeable and willing to answer all our many questions. He took us through the bustling commercial area first and then we also saw a crowded residential area. This tour really makes you think about ones own privilege, the ways many people in this world have to live, and the how they find opportunities to thrive. Highly recommend this tour.

This was my second slum tour, and my guide Hardik Tank was so much better than my first. He still lives in the community, so he knows everyone — you can even visit his home and meet his family. That made the experience feel much more authentic and personal. He has a deep knowledge of the area and took me on more interesting walking routes than I’d seen before. He also gave me free local snacks and drinks and never pressured me to buy anything, which some other guides tend to do. He even took me on a local train (which I really wanted to experience) to see the famous open-air laundry, Mahalaxmi Dhobi Ghat, which holds a Guinness World Record. I highly recommend doing this add-on at the end of the tour. I will definitely be recommending this guide to my friends when they visit.
"Thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed review! We’re delighted to hear that your experience with Hardik Tank felt authentic, personal, and memorable. His deep connection to the community and passion for sharing local life truly make the tour special. We’re also glad you enjoyed the local train ride and visit to the famous Mahalaxmi Dhobi Ghat. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we look forward to welcoming your friends and you again on another Mumbai Dream Tours experience!"
It was informative (maybe too much so). Could have been shorter. Way too much talking in my opinion. Same thing over and over. It was definitely an eye opener and something to see for sure. But our guide, Hardick Tank, really insulted me. I was 1 of 2 women with 3 men. I am a regular sized woman- no broader or wider than ANY of the men, yet he called me out and told me I wouldn't fit down the alley so I'd have to shrug/shrink. Ridiculous - as there was plenty of room for me .... and the men for that matter.
"Thank you for your honest feedback. We’re glad to hear that you found the Dharavi tour eye-opening and informative, but we’re truly sorry that parts of the experience did not meet your expectations. We especially apologize for the comment that made you feel uncomfortable or singled out. This was never our intention, and we understand your concern. Your feedback is important to us, and we will address this with our guide team to ensure all guests feel respected and comfortable throughout the tour."
