Itinerary
What makes Denmark the happiest nation on earth? Find out on our shore excursion of Copenhagen! Our bus tour begins right at your cruise ship terminal and ensures a timely return with plenty of time to spare. With years of experience guiding thousands of cruise passengers through the city, our expert team has never missed a departure! Meet your local guide and settle in for an introduction to the Danish capital.
Enjoy a scenic panoramic drive through Indre By, Copenhagen’s historic center. Along the way, your guide will introduce you to the city’s layout, history, and modern Danish way of life. Pass charming streets, green parks, elegant waterfront areas, and historic fortifications. From the comfort of your coach see the colorful sailors’ district of Nyboder, Rosenborg Castle, the City Hall Square, Tivoli Gardens (one of the world’s oldest amusement parks), the renowned Glyptoteket museum and much more.
Drive by Christiansborg Palace, located on the site of Copenhagen’s original fortress. Today, the palace houses the Danish Parliament, the Supreme Court, and the Royal Reception Rooms, making it the political heart of Denmark. If time and traffic conditions permit, enjoy a short walk through the impressive courtyard.
Continue to Amalienborg Palace, the winter residence of the Danish Royal Family and a stunning example of Rococo architecture. Walk across the grand palace square and observe the Royal Guard on duty. Look for the Danish flag raised above one of the palaces, a sign that a member of the Royal Family is in residence.
Enjoy free time in Nyhavn, Copenhagen’s iconic harbor lined with colorful townhouses and historic wooden ships. Although “Nyhavn” means “New Harbor,” the harbor itself dates back to the 17th century. Relax with a coffee or a Danish beer along the waterfront, or explore nearby Strøget, one of Europe’s longest pedestrian shopping streets.
Before returning to the ship, enjoy a photo stop at the iconic Little Mermaid statue, a symbol of Copenhagen visited by millions each year. Your local guide will share the story behind this famous landmark.
By the end of the tour, you will have seen Copenhagen's most iconic landmarks and experienced the city's rich history and culture. Do not miss the opportunity to explore this Scandinavian treasure!

Excellent tour. Listened to previous reviews and added extra free time to the tour. Guide was amazing.
Our guide did a great job giving us a local’s perspective of the city in its current state and throughout history along with the story of a long line of kings named either Christian or Frederick. Greatly recommend this tour!
Andres was excellent and knowledgeable! Thank you for a lovely time.
Andres was a great guide! Very knowledgeable. Lots to see and we saw it all.
Very smooth pick up at the port. Surprisingly, there were not a lot of people on the tour, so we were able to get excellent discussions with our guide. Our bus driver had exceptional driving skills through the city. We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this tour.
Be prepared to walk over 3.0 miles or over 7000 steps. The bus bathroom was "broken". And with family member on mobility scooter. Lots of rough riding and curbs without ramps.
Dear Paul, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that parts of the excursion were challenging for you and your family member. Copenhagen, like many historic European cities, has areas with cobblestone streets, uneven surfaces, and limited ramp access in certain locations, which can make full accessibility difficult, especially for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. This is noted in our tour description, as not all sights can be reached directly by bus or are fully step-free. Regarding the walking distance, our tours are designed to cover the main highlights within the available time, and some walking is required to access key viewpoints and historic areas. Our aim is always to pace the experience comfortably for the group as a whole and to make adjustments where possible. We are also sorry to hear about the issue with the bus facilities on the day. This is not the standard we aim to provide, and we will ensure this is followed up with the local operator. Thank you again for your comments, and we appreciate your understanding. Kind regards, Natalia Vexperio Team
This was a wonderful five hours in Copenhagen! Comfortable bus, good driver and unbelievably charming, articulate and knowledgeable host. Claus was full of facts and stories of his home country.
Clause did an amazing job! Not always easy when some in our group ended up having mobility issues. We saw a lot and he was very informative. Copenhagen has a lot of traffic, but that has nothing to do with the tour. Definitely recommend this tour..
We truly appreciate your wonderful feedback. It’s great to hear you enjoyed the tour, and we’ll be sure to pass your kind words along to Claus. Our team also runs shore excursions in many European ports, and we’d be delighted to welcome you again on a future cruise.
Claus our guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He aswered many questions with ease. Great tour, highly recommend.
