Itinerary
you will be picked up by your private Guide & Driver in your Private Car then you will go ahead to The Great Library of Alexandria which was founded in the 3rd century BC, shortly after the founding of the city as a new capital of Egypt by Alexander the Great. It is considered one of the greatest accomplishments in the legacy of ancient Alexandria since the library and the Mouseion, the larger institution of learning of which the library was a part, are credited with preserving most of the knowledge of the ancient world.
The amphitheatre of Alexandria was discovered by coincidence in the year of 1960. When the Egyptian government was getting ready to set one its buildings in the area of kom El Dekka, one of the workers found solid column underneath the dust and sand during preparing the location by engineers. Immediately, an excavation team where down the location to examine what have been found. The Roman theatre was a very important discovery in the 20th century. It was proven that the theatre was built since the 4th A.D century and was used up until the 7th century passing by the Roman, byzantine and Islamic eras.
The tombs at Kom Al-Shuqafa are thought to have originally belonged to a single wealthy Roman family that began using it for burials around the 2nd century AD; however, the complex was significantly expanded and it was used though the 4th century AD. It contains a large number of graves, including a mass grave of animal and human remains that is attributed to a mass execution carried out in Alexandria by the Roman Emperor Caracalla in 215 AD. The tombs are organized around a central spiral staircase that leads down through several levels. The lower levels are flooded, but in the accessible areas the walls of the tombs are extensively decorated. They display an unusual fusion of Greek, Roman, and Egyptian iconography given the era of their construction.

The car picked us up exactly on time from our hotel in Giza and drove us to Alexandria through dense traffic but safely. Our guide Naelah was charming, very well informed, spoke excellent English and had arranged our visit in detail with all entry tickets so we avoided all the queues for our visits. We learned a lot about the history and culture of Alexandria, and the visits to the Library and the Citadel were highlights in spite of being a bit rushed. Naelah recommended a superb lunch in the fish market with unbeatable views of the Old Port which we really appreciated. Altogether a memorable day.

We had an amazing day trip to Alexandria from Giza, guided by Bella, who was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. The highlights included visits to the Citadel of Qaitbay, Pompey’s Pillar, and the Library of Alexandria. Yossef, our driver, ensured a smooth and comfortable ride throughout the journey. Both Bella and Yossef made the experience exceptional, and we highly recommend this tour!
Over all horrible experience. Not recommended at all. Initial co ordination with the tour company was good. Car was good but the driver was too slow and was taking multiple phone calls during the drive and eventually slowed down and increased the drive time. Local guide was busy chatting with others and was most of the time sitting and getting tired lack professional attitude. Guide didn’t have enough knowledge to explain and couldn’t answer when asked questions. Lunch Restaurant was ok but she could not get us a good sitting place even though it was empty and food was very basic and cheapest from the menu - not worth the money. After giving feedback to the tour company they send a sorry message which is even more annoying
We deeply apologize for this and we have taken action against this guide .
