Day Trip: River Rafting with lunch & Visit to Marmore Falls
Description
In the morning, we will live one of the most exciting experiences to do in Umbria: river rafting! Aboard an unsinkable raft, we launch ourselves into an adventurous descent on the streams, pushed by water currents, through places of great naturalistic interest otherwise inaccessible: rock walls, waterfalls, woods and large meadows. After the descent, delicious typical lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we reach the Marmore Falls which, with its 165m divided into 3 jumps, is the second highest artificial waterfall in Europe. It is located in the Terni Valnerina area and the Nera River Park, a protected area that finds its point of excellence in the waterfall. Independent visit of the waterfalls following one or more trekking trails inside the park. Entrance ticket included.

The Marmore Falls were magnificent. There was a mixup with our tickets, but the tour operator Alejandro addressed the situation immediately. The lunch was absolutely delicious. The owners were welcoming and very gracious. However, we were disappointed with the rafting experience. While the owner and guide were very nice, several items related to the experience were not as promised. It was advertised that each group would have their own raft. We did not. We were also told that our guide would speak English. He spoke a little, but not very well. Finally, there was no white water. I suspect it was due to the drought. We spent the time paddling down the river and periodically doing safety drills. That was not the experience that was advertised. If we had known that there was no white water, we would have opted for the kayaking instead of rafting.
