Day Tour of Gobindgarh Fort and Sada Pind

Description
Enjoy the cultural tour in Amritsar by visiting Gobindgarh Fort which is a historic fort located in the center of the city of Amritsar in the Indian state of Punjab. The Fort was earlier occupied by the army but is now open to the public from 10 February 2017. Today the fort is being developed as a unique live museum, as a repository of Punjab’s history. After that visit Sadda Pind, a local traditional Punjab village, gives you a glimpse of traditional Indian culture right in the heart of Amritsar. The village is authentic Punjab, as many locals call it. While it may be a recreation, it still remains very true to its roots – so much so that local youngsters are encouraged to visit there to reconnect. The real live “village fair” that it offers allows you to make your own Phulkari Juttis, clay toys, utensils, and even farming tools and implements. The traditional north Indian cuisine on offer can be found at Chayyee ji da vehra and Daar ji da Dhaba.

We visited both Gobindgarh Fort and Sada Pind, and if you’re short on time, we’d recommend skipping the fort and heading straight to Sada Pind. Sada Pind is beautifully designed to replicate a traditional Punjabi village. Every artisan’s home has been thoughtfully recreated to offer an authentic cultural experience. From the architecture to the food, and the interactive experiences, everything is immersive and well-executed. The staff at Sada Pind also played a big role in making the visit memorable—they were dressed traditionally and truly brought the place to life. We had a great time exploring each home and learning about the different aspects of Punjabi village life. Highly recommended for families and anyone interested in Punjab’s rich cultural heritage.
It was a great trip to these places, thank you TaxiBazaar for giving such a great tour in Amritsar. Everything was so well arranged.
