Thomas was great. Wolfgang drove us safely. Tour ran on time! The Danube cruise should not have gone past Durnstein and rounded back. Thus would’ve left us more time to enjoy the little village.
Beautiful cultural and relaxing trip a few kilometers from Vienna in the Wachau valley, among the terraced vineyards and historic UNESCO heritage villages. The trip on the Danube was wonderful. The guide was also great, allowing us to have 1 hour of free time to do what we preferred, without stress or impositions. Truly a recommended trip.
It was ok but not the best day trip. With the hot summer, the Danube was low and therefore the guide mentioned it’s not the normal cruise they do. That’s no fault of the guide or company but I can’t control only review what we did on the day. 90 min coach ride to the cruise, which then dropped us in a small village with nothing really to do for just over a hour. We then went to Melk Abbey which is pretty but you look around maybe 10 rooms and then it’s over and you drive back to Vienna. I would have preferred to have depend my day doing something else, in hindsight. The driver and guide were very nice and professional and the review is not a reflection on them.
Boat ride on Danube is slow and relaxing, with opportunity to purchase a meal on board. There is not much scenery during the trip. The Abbey is interesting, though the tour only goes through approx 10 rooms in the large residence. The Church at the end of the tour makes the boat trip and the Abbey worth the wait. Probably the most dramatic church in Europe. Definitely worth seeing
Dear Perry, thank you for your feedback! We truly appreciate that you took time to write about what you enjoyed and what part of the tour could be improved. The Danube Valley is one of the most scenic parts of Lower Austria and with the cruise ship you arrive directly at Melk. We're happy to hear that you think of Melk Abbey to be one of the most dramatic churches in Europe! The baroque style is definitely very impressive and an absolute highlight to see. We're so happy to hear that you liked this part of the Danube Valley Tour. kind regards, CONTACT CENTER Opernring 3-5, Top 508-529, 1010 Wien +43 1 712 46 83 Vienna PASS GmbH Firmengericht: Handelsgericht Wien Vienna Sightseeing Tours Wiener Rundfahrten GmbH & Co. Loved this tour! It was a large comfortable bus and we enjoyed our conversations with our fellow travels. Started with the boat cruise, which had food and beverage service. The scenery was lovely. We disembarked in Dernstein for touring and shopping. Go to the sweet shops that sell their apricot products,. And don’t forget to try the delicious white and rose’ wines from the Wachau valley. Last stop was Melk Abbey. Trip is well worth it. Highly recommend.
It was a little expensive for the excursion but very well organized . The guide in bus was somewhat unclear in certain of his explanations
This was a wonderful day trip by bus and boat. Durnstein was a lovely little town and great for an hour stop. The boat ride down the Danube was lovely. I decided to have lunch on the boat to get some shade and have more time to wander in Melk. It was a nice way to spend the Boat ride, and it was very warm on the top deck with little cover for shade...so lunch inside was nice. It was a bit unclear what there was to do in Melk, I sort of had to figure it out on my own. Before the Abbey tour there is a beautiful garden to see, a small museum, gift shop, beautiful views from around the property...but not many places to cool off on an extremely hot day! There is also a restaurant to have lunch. It was a straight shot back to Vienna by bus...a relaxing and air conditioned ride home. I was in Vienna for 11 days to sing two concerts, so this day trip gave me the opportunity to get out of Vienna and see the beautiful countryside without having to rent a car.
Wonder trip and the river cruise was beautiful. Also toured the Melk Abby. A great way to see the Wachu Valley
Good tour. Knowledgeable tour guide.
Wonderful trip. The instructions regarding the departure location explained in an automated email were very clear.
