It was just okay

Loved the idea of a self-driving tour as we took one in Hawaii that was amazing. However, this particular tour in Dallas was a bit underwhelming. The ease of using the app was fine, but the whole time, the recording kept looping. The narration would start, then stop and start over. There was also lots of construction going on in the area, and we never got to see the “x” on the street where President Kennedy was shot nor finish the loop to the hospital where he was taken because the app directed us to take highway 35E but there is a 35E North and South and apparently we took the wrong one because the tour stopped. It would have been helpful if the directions were more clear as in “Take interstate 35E North” or Take Interstate 35E South.” We also could not visit the 6th floor of the book depository where Oswald took aim because we took this tour on Tuesday and it’s only open Wednesday - Sunday. This is no fault of the app itself, but it would be nice if this could be made known during the booking process in case those who would like to see that as part of the driving tour can book accordingly.

Operator response

Andrea, thanks for sharing such a thoughtful review of my Dallas JFK Assassination Self-Guided Audio Driving Tour. I’m glad the app was easy to use, though I apologize for the looping audio and confusion with the directions. Following the correct highway route is crucial for the GPS to stay in sync, and I will pass your feedback about adding clearer “North/South” prompts to my team so we can make this even smoother. You also made a great point about the 6th Floor Museum hours — I’ll make sure that detail is noted in the listing to help future travelers plan better. If you’d like, please contact me directly; I’d be happy to assist further or offer a replacement tour. I'm available daily from 9 to 6 EST.

Amazing experience for the price

Really cool background info about JFK’s assassination. Also just a great tour of the city if nothing else. If you want to see the actual spot the guy shot from you have to pay for parking and a museum ticket. There were two places where the directions he gave were slightly confusing, but if you look at the map you can figure it out. Other than those two spots though the directions were super helpful. He gives the perfect amount of time between each stop so that you can hear everything.

Operator response

Luke, I’m so glad you enjoyed my JFK Assassination Self-Guided Audio Tour. To help me improve the experience, could you please let me know which two spots caused confusion with the directions? Any additional details would be really helpful so I can make those areas clearer. Thanks again for your valuable input, and I hope you explore more of my tours in the future. If you're planning more Texas adventures, don’t miss my other tours, such as those in San Antonio, Houston, Big Bend National Park, or Austin.

Interesting but Aggravating

The tour was informative. I liked the autoplay feature, but for some reason, it would restart after a few seconds each time it auto-played the next message. By the fourth track it became quite annoying. Some messages seemed almost too long to get through before the next began as they are geographically triggered to play when you reach a certain spot. Driving in downtown Dallas is already stressful. Add in the interruption of navigation messages between the historical stories, coupled with three-second-repeat, and you’ve got a nice soup of aggravation.

Operator response

Bridgette, I’m happy to hear that you found the tour informative and enjoyed the auto-play feature. I’m sorry to hear that you're experiencing frustration with my app. It sounds like the app may have had trouble syncing with your speed. To ensure smooth playback, it’s important to follow both the speed limits shown in the app and the route provided. This helps the audio stay in sync with the location and prevents it from repeating. Please reach out if you need any further assistance—I’m happy to help with any issues, or if you’d prefer, I can assist you with a replacement tour or a refund.

Great audio tour if the route wasn't closed due to road work

It was a great audio tour but the design doesn't account for road closures. The main part of the route was closed so we ended up going to the museum instead. It was great until it didn't work anymore since I couldn't drive the actual route.

Self guided audio JFK tour

The self guided tour was perfect! We were able to take this tour on our own time and go as fast/slow as needed to accommodate traffic and the road conditions. Very informative information in the audio recordings. Narrator spoke very clearly and at a good speed. Loved how it was hands free and would play as you got to certain sections on the route.

Operator response

Kelli, I’m thrilled to hear you loved the JFK tour. The hands-free, GPS-triggered narration is designed precisely for that, allowing you to focus on the road and history without any hassle. I'm glad the pace and information worked well for your drive. Great tour!

We really enjoyed the self guided tour. Having a co-pilot assist with directions was helpful as a turn or two snuck up on us, but we were focused on the site seeing and all the traffic. What we liked was that you got to drive the entire parade route and the route afterwards to the hospital. Afterwards we came back around and stopped at the assassination site using a nearby parking garage. I would 100% recommend this tour as it was 97 degrees out and we got to do it from the comfort of our air conditioned car at our pace. Well done!

Operator response

Michael, so glad you enjoyed the JFK Assassination self-guided tour. Driving the full parade route and beyond adds a powerful layer to the experience, and doing it all from the comfort of your car, makes it even better. Thanks for the thoughtful recommendation. If you’re exploring more of Texas, don’t miss our tours in San Antonio, Big Bend, Austin, and Houston too!

Such a fun, real-time tour!

We loved this! It was so cool to have things narrated in real time as you were driving past them! We didn’t know how it supposed to work since we didn’t receive directions initially but we figured it out. The audio was pretty glitchy and kept repeating itself at the beginning of each Narrated section. We worked through it and really enjoyed the tour!

Operator response

Hi, I'm so glad you enjoyed the real-time narration. It’s designed to bring the story to life as you drive. Sorry to hear that the audio is repeating and the directions are missing. Sometimes, if you're moving too quickly or skip the starting point, it can cause the audio to misfire or loop. Sticking to the suggested speed limit usually helps the GPS sync more smoothly. I’d love to help troubleshoot or offer a replacement tour—feel free to reach out anytime!

Highly recommended!!!

Absolutely loved it. If you want to do a tour but also on a budget and or just don’t want to ride a bus with a bunch of other people this is great. The narration was great and it was spot on with certain land marks made our family feel like we were actually there!

Operator response
