Itinerary
Milan's most famous mural, Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper, is hidden away on a wall of the refectory adjoining the Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie. Depicting Jesus and His disciples at the dramatic moment when He reveals He's aware of the betrayal, it's a masterful psychological study and one of the world's most iconic images.
Santa Maria delle Grazie, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an exceptional testament to the Renaissance architecture in Milan. Designed by Guiniforte Solari in 1463, with later additions by Bramante, this stunning Lombard church encapsulates the magnificence of the Milanese court of Ludovico Sforza and Beatrice d’Este. The vist of the Church can be done just from outside if the Church is closed.

The painting, the story, and the guide were outstanding. My only negative was the exorbitant cost of the tour…..due in large part to it being mid June vacation time ……trying to,buy tickets several weeks ahead, I found that the only option available this week was an 8:00 am at over $300 for the two of us. For a 45 minute experience. Only 15 minutes in front of the painting. I thought this was far too expensive. Please just buy the tickets far early and cancel, if allowed ..
We started a little later than the scheduled time - and there were more people in our group than I expected - but all were provided with an earphone and we were connected to our guide - She was knowledgeable and personable - and gave us extra Art Historic information. I personally was an Art History major so I had this info already, but could see it was new news to mostly everyone else and she made the learning fun... there was room for all of us and the short time they provide (15 min) at the painting itself was time enough - going into and coming out - we were provided with great info and it moved it along fr us in a nice manner. Id recommend to anyone.
Anna - our guide- was extremely knowledgeable and interesting. She was Wonderful and had a great experience.
Excellent 3-hr tour. Anna knows everything. She was also very kind. It was hot as Hades and she made sure to stop in shady areas, make sure everyone had water, etc. Her English is impeccable. The little mic/earpiece setup enabled our large group (34) to easily understand her. Initially I was disappointed I was unable to buy far cheaper tickets directly from the official site. But given Anna’s detailed explanation of the Last Supper, that—by itself—made the cost well worth it. Thank you, Anna!
Our tickets were for 1:30pm. We thought we were entering the chapel at 1:30, however, it was a small tour for 45 minutes first so we didn’t enter until 215. Our tour guide was informative and pleasant.
I can now say that I have seen Leonardo da Vinci's fresco mural The Last Supper with my own eyes. However, given that the Convent of Santa Maria delle GrazieI does NOT actually charge for entry, and that the mural is significantly damaged and faded, I definitely felt that tour was over-priced, and that I was a victim of tourism price gouging. I would not do it again, but it may be appealing to true fans of art, those with FOMO, or those who take pride in seemingly rare experiences. *That last bit is not intended with snark.
The tour guide is very friendly and knows the history well, and she gave us a great tour, thank you very much.
Samantha was great. We saw The Last Supper (which was my priority), inside the Duomo, the Castle, and other parts of the city. Had a coffee break & lunch break along the way. Would highly recommend for The Last Supper & Duomo alone!!!
Guide did not show. No call or notification No answer when called. Had to place a request to Viator for a refund. Planed months in advance but this provider was a “no show”.
Maria is very knowledgeable and passionate! All of it is so interesting and vivid. Highly recommended!
