We had an excellent customized 4 hour tour of Takayama with Mihoki. She is not only knowledgeable and patient guide, but absolute delight , felt like we were walking around old town with our friend. She customized our tour to our interests and even found a brewery which sold a particular sake we wanted to buy .She also took us to the old sweets shop and tasted local delicacies with no obligation to buy anything. We highly recommend her as a excellent and friendly tour guide.
Our waking tour around Takayama and izakaya dinner with Mihoko was amazing! She was wonderful, professional, and provided so much information on Takayama and Japanese culture. It was exactly what we were looking for. Among the many sites she pointed out, she also taught us the proper customs when visiting a shrine which was so helpful. As a bonus, we had an impromptu archery session/lesson when we walked by the range on the way to dinner. Her recommended dishes at dinner were incredible. Mihoko was amazing, helpful, and incredibly kind. We would recommend her to anyone or group.
My wife and I had a 4 hour walking tour of Takayama with Deep Experience and tour guide Mihoko. We had a wonderful time. Mihoko spoke excellent English, was very charming, and had great knowledge of the town and its fascinating history. We enjoyed her company and the many insights she provided into Japanese culture. We first visited the Hida Minzoka Mura Folk Village which is spread out over a large park and gives a great understanding of the day to day life of traditional Takayama from farming techniques to silk manufacturing. Afterwards we took a short bus ride back to Takayama and enjoyed a welcome cappuccino explored the historic old streets and the many interesting shops. We would highly recommend this tour and especially the professional expertise of Mihoko our guide.
A great tour! Takayama is pretty. Our tour guide Mihoko, first took us to the Hida no-sato folk village. What a beautiful place. She explained the way people live showing her knowledge. Then we went to the old town streets. It is difficult to explain with words the neatness of the area. There are all kinds of shops and Mihoko have is time to explore.
We had a customizable guided tour with DeepEcperience’s guide, Mihoko. I cannot express enough just how much of an amazing time we had with Mihoko. She assessed our interests at the beginning of the tour and then we went to the Hida Folk Village and then came back to Takayama for a saki tour. Mihoko was well informed about the city and provided us insight into items we would not have realized if we went exploring alone. We enjoyed the saki tasting and even got some saki ice cream that she knew about. Overall, we felt like she was part of our little group during the tour, making sure we got to where we wanted to go no speaking to the locals in Japanese to ensure the best possible day we could have had in Takayama. Would HIGHLY recommend DeepEcperience and Mihoko!! If we ever go back she will be our first booking for tours!!
