I booked my reservation online via Trip Advisor for March 28th - the day I flew in to Cusco. Two days prior I received a phone call from ChocoMuseo confirming my reservation. The day before I was charged for the class. I arrived in Cusco around 10am. I purposefully didn’t book a day tour because of this class. Ten minutes before my class was to start I arrived at ChocoMuseo. There I was told that no class existed for March 28th. Two employees confirmed my reservation was legit but said there must have been “a computer glitch” and that the site booked the date and time when it shouldn’t have. Apologies were given but nothing was done. A week later I still haven’t received a refund and I wasted an entire day of sightseeing. Irritated is an understatement.
Amazing experience in Cusco! We did the chocolate making class in the museum and it’s a great way to spend 2 hours learning about history of chocolate (whilst drowning in it)! We started with a tasting (which you can do for free outside the class as well) which showed me my love for different chocolates I had never experienced such as chilli white chocolate. We then made our own milk chocolates with infinite add-ins all while being walked through how the beans are grown, harvested and roasted. We finished by making some dark and milk hot chocolates to try. Super fun activity but still educational. Recommend as a recovery activity from any hiking you do in Cusco! 🇵🇪🍫🍫
We had a phenomenal experience during our Cusco cooking class!! Loved the market trip, making piscos and especially Ceviche! Side note: is it possible to email me the recipes?
Super fun class! I couldn’t believe how fast the 2 hours went because it was so interesting and yummy. Wonderful to have chocolate to bring home!
We wanted to do the chocolate making class but the price seemed a bit steep for our whole group, so we just registered our kids, age 10 and 14. The class was 2 hours long and the kids loved it. They were super engaged and thrilled with their creations. They even learned some things.
Our family of four all enjoyed this adventure with our great chef, Jil. He took us through the authentic local market (in addition to San Pedro market). What a highlight to our trip - Jil’s fun demeanor, seeing and tasting new foods, having local interaction, preparing delicious food and Pisco Sours, and finishing with chocolate covered fresh strawberries we’d purchased at the market. A must do - and ask for Jil!
Yil was an amazing instructor. I was by myself and had some unique dietary concerns. He was able to make suggestions and modify the ingredients to accommodate my needs and we prepared an awesome meal together. He not only instructed me on different cooking techniques I hadn't tried before, but also helped me learn about choosing ingredients, how to present the food and so much history and cultural knowledge about Cuzco and the people there. He also taught me about local foods and how to prepare and eat these. Not to mention, this was FUN! The setup of the restaurant and cooking space was clean, beautiful, warm and inviting. It was like going over to a friend's house for dinner who happens to be a chef and cultural ambassador. I highly recommend this class if you are visiting Cuzco. Whether you are looking to learn about the city, culture and food beyond the touristy stuff, or just looking for a fun way to spend an evening, this is the experience for you!
I was with a group of friends who decided to take the Bean to Bar class before we started hiking the Inca trail. This was the most fabulous class - very hands on, incredibly engaging and so much fun. Yil was our instructor. He made the learning and making chocolate just a gigantic time of fun. He's hilarious and his English is excellent! This is a MUST DO when you come to Cusco!
Hadelly handle the group of five children between the ages of nine and 12 years plus a group of college students without missing a beat. We’ve never had an experience like this! Highly recommend! Five stars!
My mom and I did the bonbon and truffle class. The teacher was amazing! Perfect amount of learning, hands on, and eating. Highly recommend.
