We will stop at St. Elizabeth's Square to explain this fortress/nobility house and all the functions it has had throughout history.
We will visit the outside of the Basilica of Santa Maria, one of the icons of the city, where we will talk about its architecture, its history and its role in traditions as important as the Misteri d’Elx
We will walk among palm trees in one of the most unique landscapes of the Mediterranean, declared World Heritage Site. We will discover how this urban oasis was created, its traditional irrigation system and its role in city life, connecting history, landscape and culture.
We can walk along the walls of Altamira Palace and enjoy magnificent views in a historic building.

This was an enjoyable and informative tour of the historic centre of Elche and the concept of the Palmeral focusing on the importance of water management in this semi arid region of Spain. The tour guide Mario was immensely knowledgeable and passionate about his native city Elche accentuating the entire learning experience.
This was a highly enjoyable and informative tour of the historic city center and the concept of the Palmeral in Elche. The highlights for me were walking in the majestic palm laden parks that encompass the Palmeral and learning about the development of the irrigation system and its importance to this semi arid region of Spain. I also enjoyed learning about the evolution and development of Elche and the cultural influences from several great civilizations. My tour guide Mario is a native of Elche and possessed an impressive amount of knowledge to this region. His English was excellent and he was clearly very enthusiastic about discussing the historic and cultural wonders of Elche. I highly recommend this tour to those seeking to learn more about this unique part of Spain while exploring on foot some spectacular sights and scenery.
