We were 4 couples to get an experience in the Amazon, it would be our first time in a jungle of this kind. The Joaquin, was very helpful and strived to provide the best experiences from hiking in the forest, night trips to see caymons, fishing of piranhas, sightings of pink dolphins etc. It was a great amazonic experience.
Most amazing experience we’ve had! Joaquin made our 4 days the best with an authentic experience in the Amazon Forrest, the community and with his family. Together with him, his friends Pedro and Ray, and our translator Oscar we made memories from fishing, Forrest hiking, watching animals, swimming in the rivers, cooking, visiting other communities, and had lovely conversations over beautiful meals. Would recommend everyone interested in the Amazon to reach out to Joaquin!
It was a remarkable experience! I was received with the greatest of humility. My well-being has always been the subject of great concern. Joaquin, Pedro and Carlitos were impeccable. Here you can taste the taste of living in the Amazon! The huge thanks to the entire community August 7th. I'll be back for an intercommunity soccer tournament.
The best experience in the indigenous community August 7 and hand in hand with Joaquín and his family we highly recommend
It has been totally a gift to share these days with Joaquin and his family. It far exceeded our expectations. So we encourage everyone who wants to live an experience in the middle of nature, and be part of the August 7 Community, do not hesitate to choose Coya Amazonas Jungle Tour. Postscript: Cynthia and Nayra will always carry you in our hearts.
This has been one of the best experiences of our life. Being in the community with a family that welcomed us with open arms, taught us the jungle, the Amazon River, the way to live and feel the land, but also its neighbors, has been indescribable. Thanks, Jose, Dad Wellington and Joaquim. We also ate the best food in Colombia and learned to cook. We shared stories and laughter in the kitchen of Rosa and Mrs. Olívia. And I already miss Santi's strong embraces. Every day we saw pink and gray dolphins, learned to fish (thanks Jose and Dad Wellington for teaching me this beautiful way to connect with nature), swam in the Amazon River, sailed by boat, walked through the jungle, played with the children of the community. I hope to come back soon and stay much longer. I highly recommend it, because it is an experience that you have left forever.
Our jungle tour with COYA was truly unforgettable—one of my favorite experiences in all of Colombia, and I’ve traveled extensively throughout the country. From start to finish, the trip was a perfect blend of adventure, cultural immersion, and connection with nature. We spent meaningful time with local communities, learning about their ways of living, fishing, and traditions. Joaquin, his family, and the entire team welcomed us into their homes with warmth and generosity, sharing stories, knowledge, and perspectives that opened our minds to things we hadn’t even considered before. Their food was delicious, and they were constantly attentive, making sure we were comfortable and enjoying every moment. We explored different towns along the Amazon River, discovered new animals, and deepened our understanding of the indigenous communities of the Amazonas. It was a journey filled with learning, awe, and genuine human connection. I highly recommend COYA to anyone visiting the Amazonas—you won’t just take a tour, you’ll live an experience that stays with you.
